Looking for some lighter brexit relief by fellow leavers... Every thread I've glanced at seems to be dominated by renainers?

Is there any space for leaver on here?

Just interested... I wanted to chat...

If you knew that you were going to vote Leave the minute it was offered, then it shows you didn't consider the Leave options and variables. You just wanted to Leave, without looking at what the Brexity picture might be.

I can face facts. The prime one being that this is a fucking mess. It doesn't make it any less of an clusterfuck just because 17.4million people voted for different versions of the same clusterfuck.

See. Facts.

So, back to the original point of the OP, are there any other Brexiteers than would like to give balance alongside mummy’s insights?

Clav? Walkingdead?

When people vote in the highest numbers ever

That in itself is a Leaver trope that has been accepted without question. Hmm

For the record, even before you take into account a smaller population, more people voted in the 1992 General Election (33.6 million) - which was 77.7% of the electorate (which was the highest percentage turnout for 17? years, ie people used to be more politically engaged and turn out to vote), compared to the EU Referendum, which was 33.5million - and only 72.2% turnout.

Pesky facts Grin

I have never said Brexit will not cost money...
But forecast are just that. What they think based on what they know at this point in time.
Budgets often change, their whole point is that they provide a maybe not a have point in time.

no one said forecasts can't be wrong, just that you don't understand them or how the predictions are made. Which is why you made the compatison with month end accounts.

The only "light hearted Brexit relief" on this thread is mummy's entertaining, deluded musings.

The OP said they wanted "to chat". Wish they would offer some insight, I cant wait to listen Grin

Just what do you think management accounts are?
They are the financial position of a company, profit and loss , balance sheets and agreed for certain periods...
Budgets are forecasts in other words .
Based on the known information ...

The OBR haven't got a very good track record:

UK Economics Weekly - April 2018
Why did the OBR get its fiscal forecasts so wrong?

"This week’s public finances figures showed that borrowing for the full 2017/18 financial year came in at £42.6bn, a whopping £16bn lower than that predicted by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) this time last year."

www.capitaleconomics.com/publications/uk-economics/uk-economics-weekly/why-did-the-obr-get-its-fiscal-forecasts-so-wrong/

The chairman of the OBR (and co-signature on the report) was president of the Social and Liberal Democrats when he studied at Cambridge University.

A budget most definitely is a forecast of how something will perform. .

And you can forecast the weather..

Managing things situations, people , work can be forecast based on the information you know, and or expect to happen.

a company budget is not similae to an economic forecast.

I see clav is back, having tried to find something that confirms her bias, again.

So what do you predict to happen in the event of no deal. Based on the fact we've never done it before, therefore unknown territory

Both things look at current information and use that to forecast , needs ....
Just one happens to deal with money, the other deals with things.

Was that question to me? What does who mean about what?

Report

A budget and an economic forecast aren't the same thing at all. I'm surprised you say you managed month end accounts but don't understand the difference. If I was say, buying a new kitchen I would first decide how much I could afford to spend (my budget) and then price things up to make sure they don't exceed that amount.

An economic forecast is based on all kinds of analytics and mathematical models to see how much an economy is expected to grow or shrink.

Experts have processed all kinds of mathematical models to look at different types of Brexit. They all leave us worse of than our position now. You can't use a budget to predict how an economy will perform. You can use various data sets to graph its predicted performance if you know the variables.

mummmy on this thread alone you’ve said both

Managing things situations, people , work can be forecast based on the information you know, and or expect to happen.

And

how do you plan for something no one has ever done before.....there is no crystal ball

So which is it?
