Brexit

Brexit party

I despair, not content with doing Nazi style rally, the Brexit party did what the Nazis did in the Reichstag today in the EU parliament.

Doing a sterling job helping the UK with international relations prior to trade negotiations Hmm.

Its shaming.

Which is why I tell my daughter that, sadly, these days, you have to be careful who you tell about your Jewish heritage.

Which I find a very very sad statement bellinisurge given the history of the last century.

It is pretty sad isn't it @Peregrina .

@bellinisurge

@letsrunfar if you can't see the difference between Leave voters and No Deal supporters, I'm not going to help you.

I don't need any help thanks!

Like many, if it's no deal or no Brexit, I'm choosing no deal.

I don't see any problem with people advocating for or supporting this.

But yeah obvs all Nazis bla bla bla.

Seriously, if that's the only way to Brexit so be it.

I have much bigger problems with those who want to drag things out for eternity in hopes of wearing people down to vote remain in another referendum.

The referendum vote was clear, it didn't say, well if we can't leave in a certain way, we'll just forget about it.
The decision was binary, leave or remain. There was lots of chat about how it might happen but ultimately we must leave in whatever manner is feasible.

We had the opportunity to get it done - with WA. But ERG didn't want that. No Deal is just economic suicide.
Oh well, it's on you when it all goes tits up. As long as you are happy with that.

Report
letsrunfar · 04/07/2019 13:53

@bellinisurge
The WA would have gone through without the ERG if the Labour Party had stuck to their pledge of respecting the referendum!

I don't want no deal, I think a deal would be the best outcome but given parliament won't vote through "the agreement" and probably not any agreement, then no deal is better than no Brexit.

Report
Peregrina · 04/07/2019 13:58

Oh yes, blame Labour. The Tories want the Referendum, they are managing to hold on in Government, it's up to them including the ERG, who are still part of the Governing party, even though they like to think not, to vote for it.

It's pathetic how the BeLeavers will not own their actions, and will always look for someone else to blame first.

Report

This blame Labour stuff is fucking hilarious. Everyone else is to blame except ERG.
😂😂😂😂😂

I find it funny that people bleating about the EU not being a nation (you're right, it's not), seem to have completely missed the point that the UK isn't a nation either.

It's a union of nations. 4 to be precise.

Irony in action.

{Only the clever remainers know what's going, could see through the lies etc etc bla bla bla

How's about sod off.}

I had wondered if one of these clever leavers, who is not an idiot or racist sees the UK coming together to get itself out of the mess that has been created. Maybe properly evaluating how the jobs lost due to JiT holdups, or alternative employment for workers in the NE and elsewhere. Maybe they were about to suggest grand schemes to improve the NHS.
Even explaining how 'sod off' will actually help anything.

To be honest, I agree that Labour must share the blame on this. They have been playing games all along, not deciding one way or another which way they want to go, using political opportunism in the hope of delaying having to make any decision. There was no chance of the Tories calling a general election and no chance of Tory MP's toppling their own government. Its very easy to say 'oh we'd win an election and negotiate a better deal. They could have done that with the WA in place. They can't even decide their own Brexit policy, the EU have said they're not reopening anything, what was the point in voting against the WA unless it was political point scoring? The ERG and Dup want no deal. They are hard liners. They are doing what they were always going to do. Labour have helped them along the way.

Both hunt and Johnson are saying the same. No deal is not the ideal option, but if it is necessary to preserve democracy by respecting a majority vote it need to happen.

But if the majority of people in NI don't want No Deal and it has come down to being all about NI- why do it?

No deal Brexit guarantees the end of the UK.

Rather than listening to devolved parliaments, TMs response is to order a report into whether the SG is doing it's job.

We voted for it, it's not for her or any other scummy Tory to take it away.

I don't want to see England and Wales fucked by Brexit either, but of I'm offered a way out I'll take it.

The notion that because 52% of the people who bothered to vote (lots didn’t) voted for Brexit - not no deal Brexit- creates a democratic mandate for dragging the country into the greatest legal, economic and constitutional upheaval since the civil war is laughable, I’m sorry.
Can I recommend the recent series of reith lectures to some of these people? I mean, I know Jonathan sumption is one of these know it all experts we don’t need anymore. But it’s just possible you might learn something.

It gets worse in the form of Ann Widdecombe.

52% voted for "the easiest deal in history."

£350 mln/week for the NHS

"a great deal"

Any "democratic mandate" is for those things, not for crashing out.

NI population =1.8 Million

UK population = 67 Million

67 million being dictated to by 1.8 Million does not sound very democratic
