I despair, not content with doing Nazi style rally, the Brexit party did what the Nazis did in the Reichstag today in the EU parliament.

Doing a sterling job helping the UK with international relations prior to trade negotiations Hmm.

Its shaming.

Hmm I allowed my children to sing along to a school anthem, as it happens "We are a school of many colours, we are a a school that does its best and if we all just stand together we can do better than the rest, A rainbow never ending from sea to shining sea" What was I thinking? Should have taken them out and sung Rule Britannia instead. Glad I didn't , they have grown up to careers where they work with people from around the globe, and you won't find anyone in their world leading fields who thinks Brexit is a good idea. Very glad I bought up children who recognise that shooting yourself in the foot (withdrawal agreement) or head (no deal) is not a good idea...... It is a delusion of those who have no experience or idea of the real world....

The Brexit party are an embarrassment. But happy to take their salary from the EU. Which makes them total hypocrites as well.

The Brexit Party MEPs need to do the job they were elected to do and represent the UK in the EU parliament. This means behaving in a polite and respectful way. Turning your backs in protest at a piece of music is childish and rude. I don't think they will be turning their noses up at their salaries, expenses or indeed pensions. I will be writing to the Brexit Party MEPs representing my region to complain about their activities. It is a disgrace to see and I hope a unique stunt, though I won't be holding my breath on that front.

I think both the Brexit party and the Lib Dems looked rather childish.

However, according to Farage, when the Brexit MEPs didn't stand for the anthem, Antonio Tajani said 'It is polite to stand for the anthem of other nations.' They disagreed with this, because obviously the EU is not a nation. So they stood but turned their backs. It's still silly, but we can at least correctly report the rationale.

It's not the PP who missed the point here.

Mind you, we oldies can remember the time when cinemas played the National Anthem at the end of the evenings' showings. It was stopped because there used to be a stampede for the doors before it came on. This was late 50s/early 60s. Not exactly patriotic, was it?

I suppose you think it is ok for the LDs to have T shirts with Bollocks written on them?
Now that is rude and disrespectful.
And Nigel Farage is right. The Eu is not a nation or country and they said it was the national anthem.

Where exactly were the LibDems when they made their protest? Was it in the chamber as everyone was standing up or not, or standing up and facing backwards, or was it a photo shoot in another room?

Still if that upsets people more than a party emulating the Nazis then try this for a laugh:

Everyone is entitled to vote how they choose. Their reasons don't have to be explained. That was the purpose of the Ballot Act of 1872 which enabled people vote in secret so they could not be bribed of intimidated.

Majority vote has to be respected every time without exception to preserve democracy.

Deliberately Missing the point again @LifeContinues . I'm not trying to argue Brexit=Bad; Remain=Good. Which is what all BeLeavers on here try to turn all discussion into. I'm saying No Deal=Bad. Until BeLeavers start saying No Deal=Bad and keep pretending all MN discussion is trying to rehash the referendum, we are never going to find common ground. I have no compunction about saying No Dealers are idiots. I've never said Leavers are idiots.

As for No Deal, Daniel Hannan still an MEP, said on the night after the Referendum "No one's talking of leaving the Single Market", and it was perfectly true when he said it. It's only now that 'respect the will of the people' seems to mean crash out without a deal.

To BelliniSurge

Thing is that deals were not mentioned on the ballot paper. Not possible to do so as the number of different deals is almost unlimited.

Both Hunt and Johnson are saying that No Deal will happen on 31 October 2019 if EU does not move on existing WA. Likely that both are aware that No Deal is not the most desirable option, but after seeing the recent success of the Brexit Party they may be afraid that if UK has not left the UK on 31 October 2019 it is the end of the Conservative Party.

Because Conservatives have seen the recent success of the Brexit Party who have made it clear they would leave EU and revert to WTO.

Conservative MP's are well paid and have good pensions to look forward to. Can't see them shooting themselves in the foot by making themselves unemployable as MP's every again as as result of being sacked by the voters. When it comes to survival, push and shove people will look out for their own interests first, MPs included.

Brexit Party may well be the equivalent of the Lib Dems in the 2010 Coalition government. Although a minority the Lib Dems were able to decide themselves if Conservative or Labour were in power.

{Both Hunt and Johnson are saying that No Deal will happen on 31 October 2019 if EU does not move on existing WA.}

BoJo and Hunt are both liars in some areas and the UK, particularly the 'leave' persuasion, are still listening to them, rather than the EU negotiating team who are representing the 'will' of 450 Million Europeans (and the UK remainers).
There will be tears before bedtime.

According to google translate - the Italian word for country is nazione and the Italian word for nation is nazione. Mr Tajani is Italian... Wink

Russian athletes weren't allowed to compete under Russian flag or have Russian anthem played at Olympic Games. Is "Olympic" a nation we should all turn our backs on too?
