Sorry if this has already been asked. They are talking up their success but clearly they didn't get what they hoped for. They presumably won't slink back to their old parties and I can't see them continuing as a party after this. Any predictions?

They'll merge with the LDs as they should have done from the start. The LDs will change their name to include Change in the title.

Liberal Democrats for Change or some such

noodlenosefraggle · 27/05/2019 10:56

Sadly I think they will disappear. In all likelihood they will lose their seats in an election to the the tories, Labour or lib dem. Its not fair to parachute them in to stand for the Lib Dems when there are established party members who may want to stand. I had high hopes for them too.

whymewhynow · 27/05/2019 11:42

I too think they've had it. If the Labour Party does unequivocally embrace second ref then LibDems may have had it too.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 27/05/2019 12:57

If they merge with Lib Dems the likes of Lucianna Berger will lose their seat at next GE.

All Change UK have done is split the remain vote further. Not helpful.

Namenic · 27/05/2019 13:02

Tories and labour both need to split.

MockerstheFeManist · 27/05/2019 13:02

Heard Soubry on the radio this morning laying into Heidi Allen, the supposed 'leader' This rag-bag cannot hold together.

The most wonderful thing about tiggers is they're the only ones.

Whoa! What for? That's shocking. Some party.

And she’ll keep her seat if Change UK remains? Hmm

Oakenbeach · 27/05/2019 20:05

No, they’re not significant enough for the LDs to change their name for.... They’ve been around for a month and got the same vote share as UKIP. They need to disband honourably and join whatever party best suits them.

They and we don’t have the luxury for them to fanny around flogging a dead horse and creaming off 1-2% of Remainer votes and thereby effectively being Nigel’s unwitting fifth column....

Rosehip10 · 27/05/2019 21:12

The only thing that Anna Soubry cares about is the self promotion of Anna Soubry.

Didn't take long for the "new politics" to start turning on each other. I suspect most CUK MPs will not retain their seats.

How on earth was this party going to work when people like Soubry had the cheek to defend "austerity" when she was a Minister - people who may vote for change UK don't want Tory policies.

BrexitLetsCalltheWholeThingoff · 27/05/2019 23:38

What did Anna Soubry say about Heidi Allen?

What did Anna Soubry say about Heidi Allen?

R4 Today on Monday:

www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0005f29

On Tactical voting:

"I think it is rather bizzare of an interim leader to tell people not to vote for the party, now let's move on..."

from 56 mins

Zampa · 28/05/2019 07:37

Did anyone else notice the party was abbreviated to CHUK during the TV coverage? I'm sure shameless self promoter Chuka Umuna hadn't realised that would happen ...

Piggywaspushed · 28/05/2019 08:27

Heidi Allen is genuinely popular in her (massively remain voting) constituency. There's a headache right there. If the Tories parachute in a Brexiteer in a GE they might not win the seat. If Heidi goes to the LibDems (if they'll have her) she could easily win that seat.
