Who should I vote for in the European elections? (Voting for a EU27 MEP version)

Just wondering if those of us voting for EU27 MEPs have been aware of trends or have a strategy? Since Bannon has a strategy for Europe, and liberal democracies don't seem to produce a big counter-argument.

Everyone in my family (France) is switching from LREM to the Greens. I don't know what to do, as would not want to kick LRM in particular. DP in the UK is voting green for the first time, as well as work colleagues.

A green wave in Europe sounds a good counter argument to Bannon's vision. Especially since it seems to be adopted by the young (and very young).

Who to vote for in France, and what is it like in other EU countries?

The greens in France are at the nuttier end of the European green spectrum. I'd vote green in the U.K. but I'm not voting for fucking José Bové.

I'm voting LREM because I want to cast an unequivocally pro-European vote. I have very mixed feelings about Macron/the govt but the choice for centre left voters is dreadful.

Jesus. The english green party does have a copious history of anti semitism too, but just googled Bove. What a piece of work. Angry

Thanks. I didn't realise Bové was an MEP. Looks like he's not running this year, which is good.

I want to vote LRM too but I'm obsessing about how to counteract these European nationalist movements and take these people on board. Rassemblement National is polling high and they're not going away. They're never going to listen to centrists. If people like the feeling of resisting change and being loud activists I'd like to redirect them to climate change as a threat rather than immigration.
Maybe the younger generation could organically convince their parents that solidarity and climate change are the fights. And then it could snowball. In that context, how competent the green MEPs are wasn't that important. But I can see that it is, really.

DD just did one of those "choose your policies, we match you to a party" quizzes and now she's sitting in the kitchen muttering "I'm going to end up voting for fucking Macron" PMSL
