Where did the Brexit Party get my details from?

Have googled to no avail. I received the Brexit Party flyer addressed to me. I've never even voted for Tories let alone anything like UKIP so curious how they got my details and why they thought I might be remotely interested?

I got one too. Dh didn’t. My name comes before his in the alphabet. I felt dirty when I saw it on the floor.

6/7 years ago there was a man posting UKIP leaflets in our area. I was pregnant and hormonal and saw red. So I ran out the front door, chased him down the road and told him not to post that crap through my door again. He was shocked and asked me why, so I pointed at my brown face and said “does it look like I’d vote for you?!” He kind of mumbled sorry and took my leaflet and bumbled off. He always steered clear of me after that, as he lived around the corner. Dipshit.

Could we return these Brexit party letters to the sender with a note attached?!

See my photo upthread, did this with both Brexit and UKIP leaflets

jasjas1973 · 19/05/2019 19:28

BXP, Con, Lab and UKIP, opened, wrote what i thought, readdressed back to sender.

So far nothing from CUK Green or LD, which is a bit worrying.

Each political party is allowed 1 addressed letter delivered for free to each person on the electoral register. They also have access to the full register for campaigning purposes. They have to pay for the cost of printing the leaflets themself and get organised enough to actually get this done, which is why some have not done so in this election, as it had to be done in a very short timescale.

I've volunteered for a political party. Sometimes we have up to 5 different freepost leaflets, which are delivered successively to the 1st, 2nd, etc person alphabetically. Obviously if you only have 1 person in the household, then you will only get the first leaflet, so this has to have the key message.

This is in addition to any other campaign literature delivered by volunteers or sometimes outsourced to paid staff, but this depends on the type of election and resources of the party, as each has different spending limits.

Who does your car insurance?

Because if it's a Banks company, you're on the list.

Oh diddums, it made you feel a bit 'ick' seriously.

Back in the real world pretty much everyone I know is voting for the Brexit Party.

You feel contaminated by recieving a flyer from the only party pushing for democracy in Britain today?

You should feel ashamed of yourselves.

I think it is time you gave the phone back to your carer.

there is no point posting back without a stamp as they only have to pay if they go and collect it if they decide they do not want the mail without stamp they don't pay for it and it gets binned

once I got a long postcard with ordinary stamp ( should have been large letter) when I went to sorting office the man bought it out I turned it over looked at it and decided I didn't want to pay for it he explained it would be binned if I rejected it so I said fine,

I am certain the brexit or whatever party will not be traipsing off to the sorting office to pay to get returned leaflets

We only got a UKIP one, yesterday. I took great childish pleasure in defacing it and getting the kids to post it back. Why did I only get a UKIP one I wonder? Ironic really.

AdoraBell · 23/05/2019 12:19

Me too. Particularly annoying as my bloody “D”H plans to vote for them Angry but I will never vote for them.

theydontknowweknow · 23/05/2019 12:29

I had a UKIP one addressed to me, my half Indian DP with a very obvious foreign name strangely didn't have one addressed to him though. It got ripped up and put straight in the bin

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/05/2019 12:35

DS got one, and also UKIP. I didn't get anything. We were working on the assumption that as a first time baby voter, they are trying to garner his support. He finds it hilarious. We have different surnames.
