As requested :) A thread for people to coordinate meeting up at Saturday's march.
www.peoples-vote.uk/march map is here. You can put layers on to find toilets and the like.

Some words of advice and random thoughts.

If meeting in Hyde park it can be tricky to get over to Park lane with pushchairs when it's very crowded. When I asked them about families with small children they suggested Trafalgar square is a good place to start with the accessible route.

March start location is at the Hilton.

There will be a massive group at the Dorchester. (Liberal Democrats)

Marble Arch tends to get very busy before the march, I'm not sure about around the Wellington Arch. That might be good (any experience?)

Last march some mners took red toothbrushes with them.

Mobile phone signals go down when marches get massive, so don't rely on this.

I went to the last one and there were so many people at Park Lane, there was nooo way you would have been able to meet with anyone there. I waited about 2 hours locked in a huge crowd before we could move off, so plans to meet at a set time with friends further down the route were scuppered. If you want to meet, you might be better off arranging a meeting point at Green Park well before the time and join the march from there.

I can meet up with people at green park (hopefully!)

I can't get there before 1pm ish. Where do you suggest I should join the March at that time? I'm coming by train and getting off at King's Cross. I have two teenagers with me so no pushchairs etc.
TIA

Loletta - from KIngs X, I would get Victoria Line to Victoria and walk up to either Hyde Park Corner or Green Park stations (both are almost certain to be closed due to crowds) and jump on the march at either of those points. You [could possibly take the Piccadilly Line to Piccadilly Circ (great ice cream shop called Grom very close by Wink or Knightsbridge and walk too but Piccadilly Line a bit creaky and slow, imo.

Thanks Lala! Do you think the March at 1 pm will be still around Victoria? Or would it have moved further down already?

lalalonglegs · 22/03/2019 12:53

In my experience, the march is unlikely to even have started at 1pm, always a lot of hanging about and last time it took several hours for the people at the back to get underway so you have zero chance of missing it. Nb, it doesn't actually go past Victoria, you need to walk up from Victoria station to Hyde Park Cnr or Green Park station (on Piccadilly) and jump on there (this is fine, no one minds, it is not considered pushing in).

There's a meeting of the Women against Brexit and Women for A People's Vote groups at Bomber Command off Piccadilly, 11am meet, some good speakers, so I think I'll head there!
