Marching Tips for Babies and Toddlers!

We are keen to come on the People's Vote March on Saturday but have two very young children - new baby and 18 months.

Has anyone been on a previous march with young children - any tips?

Is it a stupid idea to be considering?

No, it will be fine. Do not go to start point, there will be far too many people and it takes hours for everyone to move through. Depending on where you are coming from, I would suggest getting to Victoria and walking across Green Park to Piccadilly (Green Park station closed last time due to crowds), chill in the park with picnic and jump on march once it has started passing - perfectly fine to do this, it isn't considered pushing in. Possibly jump off at Trafalgar Sq or definitely Downing St and head over to Charing X or Embankment stations to get away. Write mobile number on toddler's arm in marker pen. Although there are lots of people, it's quite easy to stay together though, so don't panic.

Yes, avoid the start and wait in Green Park, then duck out at Trafalgar Square. Take snacks!

I don't think I can make the march, but if I can I'll have to bring my 4 year old. Something on one of the facebook groups about thanking the police officers for keeping everyone safe got me thinking about making him a sign saying just that. He's not really old enough to understand brexit, but I'll make a sign saying "Police Officers - Thank you for keeping us safe" and he'll understand what that's about. A suggestion for anyone else with little ones?

When I wrote to them asking about this, the People's Vote Campaign suggested that if families with small children wanted they could assemble at the Accessible location and follow that route.
