Anyone changed their minds

Did anyone vote leave and now wishes they had voted remain?

Or voted Remain and think leaving is a good idea now?

I don't think no matter if your a leave or remain supporter the one thing we can agree on is that the leave process is an absolute mess.
It seems we are getting closer to another referendum but will it make any difference?
I have a scary picture I'm my head that has a no deal exit voted against, a referendum called and then the outcome is still leave. That leaves the uk in a worse place than we out now and still no solutions.

I know both remain and leave voters IRL and they all would vote as they did in the first referendum in there was another vote.

I want there to be a resolution soon but I think it's going to drag on for a while!!

I've changed my mind on living in the UK full stop. Sadly no such options.

onalongsabbatical · 12/03/2019 22:42

This again? No change. Still a passionate remainer.

I voted Remain, and I am increasingly convinced it is the best option. No deal is better than the deal we already have.

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 01:57

I am a leaver and would support leave if there was another referendum. Leave support based on the following:

Brussels is a dictatorship that is not elected

Immigration remains uncontrolled

Have those changed since 2016? No they have not.

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 13/03/2019 02:11

Voted remain but would vote leave now after seeing how the government have ignored the choice made. They are like children squabbling and would not trust any of them.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 02:27

This question has been asked a lot

Haha at the idea of brexit making any difference to immigration levels, unless you count making the country so shit that even those born here don’t want to be here, that’s one way it could work I suppose

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 02:42

Haha at the idea of brexit making any difference to immigration levels

Whether it does or not will not change the perception that leaving the EU will reduce immigration and hence one reason why some voted leave.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 02:48

You’ve said it’s why you voted leave, would you not want to be sure that it actually would make a difference?

The UK is really not a dumping ground for refugees and asylum seekers you know. The uk is not even in Schengen. Not that facts matters to leavers 😒

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 03:18

“It is what people thought at the time of the 2016 referendum that counted. Not what has been stated since.”

“I am a leaver and would support leave if there was another referendum. Leave support based on the following:

Make your mind up. If you’re happy to give something your support based on (by your admission) perception only and not actually checking that this was correct, then you’re a bit daft really

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 03:20

“deal with them”

What nasty people I share a nationality with

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 03:26

The UK is really not a dumping ground for refugees and asylum seekers you know. The uk is not even in Schengen

So how do they end up in UK? What happened to the EU requirement that the first EU country they arrive in shall deal with them?

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 03:32

“Deal with them”

Revolting

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 03:35

Anyway, which is it, immigration or refugees and asylum seekers? Or all of them? Was it perception or fact that brought about your own leave support?

BeardedMum · 13/03/2019 03:38

How do you think they end up in the UK?
How do you think membership the EU has anything to do with the number of asylum seekers and refugees in the Uk?
By the way are you confusing asylum seekers with economic migrants?

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 03:42

Revolting

Why? Thought it was an EU requirement that first point of arrival was the Jurisdiction that should manage/deal/take care (or whatever words you wish to choose) of them?

Why is their a camp in Calais? Of course it is just coincidence that it is the shortest distance from France to UK. Would not be surprised if France wants the refugees to try and make it to UK.

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 03:43

By the way are you confusing asylum seekers with economic migrants

Call them whatever you wish it all adds to the same thing - it is an extra cost to the UK.

BeardedMum · 13/03/2019 03:47

🤦‍♀️

HerSymphonyAndSong · 13/03/2019 04:02

“Call them whatever you wish it all adds to the same thing - it is an extra cost to the UK.”

Perceived or actual?

Never mind - it’s just one of many late night posters who don’t answer direct questions. We know what they’re about

Decormad38 · 13/03/2019 04:03

Voted remain still remain because I actually did some research before I voted and didn’t take my steer from the Daily Mail! However totally pissed off with the whole train wreck and to thing I used to take a keen interest in politics!

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 04:50

Never mind - it’s just one of many late night posters who don’t answer direct questions. We know what they’re about

Not late night for me. I am in a different time zone. Many hours ahead of UK

FriendOrFaux · 13/03/2019 05:00

Leave in 2016.
Still leave now.
Although I don't think we will ever actually end up leaving. TM's deal is/was awful so it was never going to get through.

MissedTheBoatAgain · 13/03/2019 05:06

However totally pissed off with the whole train wreck

Imagine that many votes feel like that no matter which way they voted in 2016?

overandunder9 · 13/03/2019 05:22

@missedtheboatagain - How can Brussels be a dictatorship when there are elections?! Each one of us is represented in the EU by MEPs who are given the opportunity to vote for, just as we do for the UK parliament. They are elected representatives.

@Justagirlwholovesaboy - you say that you are fed up with the UK parliament’s squabbling, yet you want to give them MORE power, which is essentially what will happen if we leave the EU. If someone is doing a job badly, the last thing you do is give them more tasks to mess up, surely?

For those that are moaning about immigration... if we leave with no deal, it is highly likely that the UK government will be desperate to make deals with China and India. With that will come immigration caveats - they will expect a certain level of freedom of movement. So net immigration may actually go up.
