...because it basically means that JRM’s lot and the DUP will finally throw their weight behind the PM and her new deal - and Brexit WILL go ahead on the 29th.

I was hoping JRM/the DUP would vote against the PM for a second time tonight, which would almost certainly have meant a delay to article 50 and made it far more likely that the whole thing just wouldn’t happen at all.

If we exit now, for remainers, that is it, there will be no rejoin, whoever we vote for

Why can there be no rejoin? If there can be a Brexit party set up in the event we don't leave then why can't there be a Rejoin party set up post Brexit. Am I missing something?

time the conditions for new members are no rebates, no opt outs and adopt the euro.... and the eu27 have to all agree and what would Spain's conditions be on Gibraltar before agreeing?

Will never happen.

@time as much as I am a strong remained and really really want her to revoke or better than nothing PV, I would not want us to rejoin if we left.

It would be a different EU we would be joining. And it would be a step to far for me.

Like many Brits, I like the EU and want to remain a member, but there is also a lot wrong with it.
And joining the Euro is something i don’t think I could ever support.

But the option to rejoin is there though, obviously conditions on joining will be different. If leaving is going to be the complete s**tshow that remainers are adamant it will be then a Rejoin party will romp home and the price paid of joining as a new member will be worth it?

It doesn't mean we crash out with no deal, if there is any major political unrest like a general election, under Article 50, Brexit can be suspended until after the election.

I wrote a 15,000 word academic dissertation on Article 50 and I can assure you that it contains no such provision.

Have you even read Article 50?

Time the guaranteed option to rejoin isn't there at all.

The UK tried for 20 years to join the EEC and was blocked, it's highly likely that the EU wouldn't want a country like the UK to rejoin and cause more mayhem for them.

No, we'll have to take our chances now its a foregone conclusion we are leaving via Mays deal.
An application to join EFTA is probably the nearest we will come to rejoining the EU over the next 2 or 3 decades.
