Just thought I’d start a discussion thread on the subject of the BBC’s hit podcast brexitcast. Those of you who listen to it what do you think? I think it’s very informative but mixes in comedy. My favourite would have to be Laura kunessburg.

I've put off getting it but I think I might start. I've been disappointed in the BBC indulging utter nutters in the name of balance. It will be interesting to listen how they deal with centrists.

I love it! Really interesting to get the EU side of the gossip from Adam and Katya especially.

@WineCheeseSleep

I know what you mean but I think they should be doing 2 episodes a week given the current situation (hardly a lack of stuff to talk about)

They are too sodding giggly & agitated. Discipline deficit too often.
That said, I quite like the insights, when they calm down a bit.
The production quality is good (I can hear everyone's voice clearly, all are at same volume).

Some of the political podcasts (yahoo news, I'm looking at you) are too variable in volume. Lousy for listening. Tsk Tsk.

It's my favourite podcast.

I love the slightly off-the-cuff style, hearing them let their guard down a bit, the backroom 'gossip' feeling. They are always careful of course not to reveal sources, but can be a bit more free with discussing rumours and hearsay than they would on the regular BBC reporting.

I think Laura K is amazing and I have a bit of a girl crush on her. I feel weirdly proud that a young woman is in such a prominent position on the BBC. Love her Twitter feed too.

I agree it should be more than once a week.

Btw does anyone know why Chris mason hasn’t been in the last few episodes?

Love it. Listened to it for ages. They explain everything so well and make it entertaining.

@WineCheeseSleep thanks

I love Chris, and enjoy hearing his input on some of the other 5live political discussions. I would love it if they just cut down to having one of them doing the podcast at a time with him.
I do listen regularly to Brexitcast, but have to be honest and say I find them quite annoying when all together. They often talk over each other, giggle a lot and have too many "in jokes." The actual facts often get lost among all this. The quality of sound is also iffy quite a lot. They did one the other day when one of them was waiting at a train station I think and you could just hear the background noise the whole time. I usually listen on headphones and it often gets bad enough I have to move on to something else.

Recently I've been finding I prefer the Guardian podcast and really surprisingly the Telegraph one is also rather good for decent discussion.
