Both obsessed by imaginary ferries which numpty do you think deserves the prestigious title of Captain Haddick?

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratcett · 11/02/2019 21:48

More like Ahab or Bligh.

prettybird · 11/02/2019 22:02

No-one is as bad as Failing Grayling.

Gavin who's he? Williamson is a lightweight in the failing stakes in comparison.

BigChocFrenzy · 11/02/2019 22:05

Grayling could cause us to run short of food;
Williamson could get our ships sunk on the other side of the world

Um, tricky one

In the UK & the Channel: Failing Grayling
Everywhere else: Wacky Williamson

But really it's May who's the prize Haddick, for making them Cabinet ministers

GiantKitten · 11/02/2019 22:06

Can I slap them both, please?

RedToothBrush · 11/02/2019 22:22

BigChoc remember Williamson is the one who is mates with the DUP and got them to sign up to the billion pound bribe. And blackmailed May into making him Defence Sec from his previous position of Chief Whip.

OP posts:
GiantKitten · 11/02/2019 22:24

And as chief whip (& probably still) kept a tarantula in a tank in his office. I think he thinks he’s in a Bond movie Hmm

BigChocFrenzy · 12/02/2019 01:15

I didn't know about Whacky's DUP connections, red
and I thought he was made defence sec because she'd run out of people she hadn't sacked and / or couldn't tolerate

So much going on, easy to miss things that ought to be screaming headlines in normal times

DGRossetti · 12/02/2019 06:42

RedToothBrush · 12/02/2019 09:02

Grayling is incompetent on a scale of near unimaginable proportions. He has gained a reputation in the worst ever government as the worst ever Cabinet member. Everything he touchs turns to shit and starts crumbling. Like a reverse King Midas.

Williamson is a defence secretary who literally said yesterday that we should be taking risks as a nation rather than doing everything he can to minimise risk to the nation. And thinks ferries are built like warships. He is the King playing with his soldiers like they were toys.

I guess May is just King George III.

newsthump.com/2019/02/11/businesses-panic-at-prospect-of-chris-grayling-in-private-sector-role/

"Meanwhile, the retail sector appealed for government assistance to address perceived existential threats, listed – in ascending order – as no-deal Brexit, high business rates, competition from the Internet, and the recruitment of Chris Grayling in an advisory capacity."

In a race to the bottom, I think you could add Liam Fox in there too.

He’s busy announcing that because the UK is the 5th (or possibly the 6th by now) largest economy by GDP it is also the world’s 5th (or 6th) biggest market.

I guess Economics 101 is not a pre requisite of being a Trade Minister Hmm

AornisHades · 12/02/2019 09:49

Grayling's a fool but old Gav genuinely thinks he's likely to be PM at some point so I think he's more of a danger.

RedToothBrush · 12/02/2019 09:49

I thought we were being overtaken by India as well as France this year to make us the 7th biggest.

What are Liams views on ferries? Does he know where Dover is?

OP posts:
ContinuityError · 12/02/2019 09:52

I’m not sure that Liam knows his arse from his elbow.

Which is even more worrying given his medical degree.

RedToothBrush · 12/02/2019 09:59

To be fair continuity, he did leave practising as a doctor.

So you got to give him some credit for understanding his own limited abilities.

OP posts:
Katterinaballerina · 12/02/2019 09:59

Grayling is inspirational. If you’ve proven to be totally incompetent at every job you’ve ever had , don’t let it get you down. There’s always another Ministry out there just waiting for you to —fuck— —it— —up— find it.

Katterinaballerina · 12/02/2019 10:00

Jesus. I didn’t know he was a doctor. One can only hope that he was in palliative care.

RedToothBrush · 12/02/2019 10:01

Grayling proves that there is indeed hope for everyone out there.

OP posts:
ContinuityError · 12/02/2019 10:06

He was a GP.

Would have been better if he had been a proctologist - at least then when the US said “bend over” he’d have some idea of just how much the UK can be shafted.

MillytantForceit · 12/02/2019 10:27

Fox was sacked as Defence Scretary for going on arms selling trips with his fwend Biggus Dickus who attended secret meetings and handed out cards saying he was a 'consultant.'

prettybird · 12/02/2019 20:13

Fox used to work for my dad (now retired) when Fox was a trainee doctor. My dad, who is the nicest of people who rarely speaks ill of anyone, and who is remembered extremely fondly by former colleagues, damns him with faint praise by saying, "he was very mediocre" Wink

SwedishEdith · 12/02/2019 20:19

Williamson is more dangerous. I feel he'll say anything for approval. Plus, he does seem to be a genuine idiot. Grayling is Richard Attenborough in 10 Rillington Place. That creepy, quiet, breathy way of talking.

Juells · 13/02/2019 14:36

Williamson is frightening, I think. He seems to see Brexit as a chance to re-establish Britain's military might, and throw its weight around.

Arklow Shipping told Irish news that they pulled out of the Seaborne deal - and they hadn't signed anything - because they were being pressured and pressured and pressured to sign a contract without being given time to do the normal due diligence. They weren't willing to be hurried into a deal without knowing all the pros and cons.

TeamDixon · 13/02/2019 19:03

Williamson is deluded! So many Military and MoD Civilians are being deployed to help out other Govt Depts with bloody Brexit there will be actually no one left to do ' Defence' !
