And I still don’t know what to do.
I’m really torn because I really really really want to go and have been looking forward to it for a year.

OTOH we’d lose £3,000. At least right now we will only lose the deposit and can move the flights - although heaven knows until when.

Flying with Air France, four night break two weeks post brexit.

I just don’t know. Sensibly I should cancel and then if / when brexit is delayed I will feel really cheated. But if we don’t cancel and if / when no deal happens we could end up with no holiday and £3k down.

I am immensely fucked off.

I'm probably being thick but what's the issue?

Cheekysquirrel · 26/01/2019 19:35

In a no deal brexit no one seems to know if flights will go.

OP posts:
goodolddaze · 26/01/2019 19:38

I wouldn’t cancel. It’s in no one’s interest for flights to be grounded like that.

Quartz2208 · 26/01/2019 19:38

wait to see what happens on Tuesday

SalrycLuxx · 26/01/2019 19:39

Flights will go. The EU has said it will let them keep flying from UK to EU. Just no UK airlines between EU cities.

Perch · 26/01/2019 19:39

Of course it will go! Can you imagine the economic impact on european countries with struggeling economies like spain and greece if tourism goes tits up? It will be fine. Worst case scenario you will have to q for a stamp in your passport, like the rest of the world does, and they cope fine.

PotteringAlong · 26/01/2019 19:40

£3000 for 4 nights?!

Cheekysquirrel · 26/01/2019 19:40

In an event of no deal though I think flights have to stay at 2018 levels? So any new flights added this year wouldn’t be able to go? No idea if mine is new or not.

OP posts:
Cheekysquirrel · 26/01/2019 19:41

Well it’s £2,400 plus the flights.

OP posts:
LIZS · 26/01/2019 19:43

Go, it may not be affected.

caughtinanet · 26/01/2019 19:44

£3000 for 4 nights

That was my takeaway too Grin

Boyskeepswinging · 26/01/2019 19:44

£2,400 PLUS FLIGHTS for a four night break ... wow!

(misses point of thread)

Whatdoiwanttohear · 26/01/2019 19:45

£3k?? You could get a villa in somewhere lovely hot and sunny for a fortnight in March for that of course don't cancel.

user1471453601 · 26/01/2019 19:45

Id go ahead. I was talking to a friend who runs an independent holiday firm in Greece and she was of the opinion that the airline/holiday company lobby in Europe just wouldn't stand for flights being stopped. I'm her opinion, southern Europe needs tourism too much to let it hapoen.
I hope she's right.

Boyskeepswinging · 26/01/2019 19:45

Oh, thank goodness it's not just me who thinks that's extortionate.

donajimena · 26/01/2019 19:46

I'm going to book a holiday tomorrow. I've already booked one.

Cheekysquirrel · 26/01/2019 19:47

It’s disneyland Paris hotel.
We’ve saved for quite a while for it and wanted to take ds and dd before they get too old.
It was actually ‘cheaper’ on a book early deal!! It would cost more if we cancelled and rebooked Shock

Whatdoiwanttohear · 26/01/2019 19:47
Shock
dancingdirty · 26/01/2019 19:48

I have the same issue and although I expect it will all be fine but for me it's the first time I have spent this much on a holiday and am terrified of losing it

Strawberry2017 · 26/01/2019 19:49

Do you remember the millennium when everyone said that all the computers would crash at midnight and they didn't! That will be brexit. It's scaremongering, it's ridiculous.
If you want to go on your holiday then go on it.

GD12 · 26/01/2019 19:49

The leaked Border Force report Sky News has predicted that because of people not knowing what to do at airport, flights would be badly delayed and the knock on effect would be chaotic schedules.

European12345 · 26/01/2019 19:49

Flying 2 weeks post Brexit my only worry is whether it’ll be cold in Sweden in April (I know the answer )

It’s nobodys interest to ground the flights. Not only it’d be bad for the uk but gor the rest of countries. Britain is the biggest tourism in Spain leaving millions of pounds per year. Spain is fucked at the moment , can’t imagine how would it be if British couldn’t fly and go there. .... they’d need more money from the Eu.

I also wanna know if possible where are you going for that price Shock

theworldistoosmall · 26/01/2019 19:50

Can you really see airlines etc standing by and saying fuck it we don't need the business?
Plus on the slight off chance that airlines say fuck it we aren't taking Brits, wouldn't insurance kick in?

Boyskeepswinging · 26/01/2019 19:51

It’s disneyland Paris hotel
Ah, that explains the cost ...
If you're worried about flights why not go on the Eurostar? Goes literally to the door of the hotel, no transfers, faff free with excited kids in tow.

StoorieHoose · 26/01/2019 19:51

FFS can everyone stop citing the freckling Millennium Bug when folk talk about brexit

Thousand of people worked on it for years to prevent it from having an effect

The complete opposite of this brexit clusterfuck
