Brexit

what about a YOUNG people's vote? (the people who didn't get a say last time)

I kinda get the 'anti-democratic' argument about a people's vote - not really, but I see why MPs view it as a disaster. But what about asking the 1.6 million people aged 18 to 20.5 who are now of voting age who weren't able to vote in the referendum...and adding their polling to the previous vote?

Could it possibly be considered anti-democratic to ask people who haven't had a say...and who are incidentally most affected by this decision?

We could be in this brexit bubble for a long time. Having referendum after referendum.

I think Europe is in trouble and we will be better in the long run out if the EU. The first referendum was to leave, and that is what we should honour and leave.

zip I think that is the single worst thing about leave having won (to date...given we haven't actually done anything yet - I'm sure there is worse to follow).

I was so happy the night of the referrendum that we had finally heard the last of the word brexit. No it seems we are sentenced to it being the only topic of conversation for most the next decade.

ITs already been non-stop for 3 years...we haven't worked out how to leave let alone what trade deal we will do when we do. This is going to go on for fucking EVER.

I suppose it still would have done, even if it had been 48:52 instead...its not like the issue would really have been settled by any result so close...

I agree OP! Since the vote two leavers in my family have passed away and 3 remainers have come of age.

In general elections it doesn’t matter because it’s so cyclic you get your chance eventually but in this case it’s a one time thing and it seems a shame to deny those who it will affect the most the chance to have a say.

I loved my Grandpa to death but his vote was pointless for him now because even if Brexit does bring benefits he isn’t around to enjoy them.

I know of 6 remainers who have passed in the past 2 years.

It is a crass and quite ridiculous view.

yeah - it doesn't actually matter how many leave or remain voters peopel personally know who have died...the net result of people dying in the last 2 and half years is that there are now more people who voted remain alive than voted leave.

This in itself doesn't matter or affect a rerun because all the people moving through the age groups are slowly becoming more right wing in the way that they always have done and hence if asked now you would likely expect the same over all leave/remain patterns by age as last time.
