WTF is happening ATM

TM's toddler strop and melt down was 2 weeks ago.

There's less the 2 weeks until the EU council summit.

TM appears to have done nothing more than try and pretend the Chequers plan will be fine if we just stop referring to it as Chequers.

She's totally ingnoring the fact the EU have rejected it and so have half of her party.

Am I missing some huge news release or is it really the case that nothing is happening?

She’s practicing her groovy dance moves ( think she’s on strictly come dancing next year ) 🕺

Bearbehind · 05/10/2018 18:21

That was so pitiful she'd clearly devoted zero time to practising that! 😂

😂

time4chocolate · 05/10/2018 19:10

Or maybe she had and that’s as good as it gets 😂

Bearbehind · 05/10/2018 19:32

Sadly I think you are probably right time. 😆

It was beyond cringeworthy!

I cannot bring myself to watch it if her past 'performances' are anything to go by 😕

Seem to be limping towards a deal behind the scenes. Word on the street is that Tories will fold on all remaining sticking points to get a withdrawal agreement. Turns out that even the worst deal on offer is better than no deal. Who knew? Lol.

Will labour vote for it though? Think they are being outmanoeuvred. Bad deal = they get the blame. No deal = they get the blame.

What has been happening is that our honourable cabinet of leaders have been fiddling, squabbling ( or dancing) while Rome burns.

The last few weeks have been no different to the last two years, more fiddling about will self imposed red lines, refusing to accept the four pillars.

It seems Barnier and Juncker think there's a good chance of a deal in November.

The Guardian claims TM is planning a "secret charm offensive" (don't laugh, you lot!) to persuade Labour MPs to back her in the national interest.

I've got an awful feeling that we're going to leave with a deal that is nowhere near as good as the one we already have and I have no idea what we gain.

{I've got an awful feeling that we're going to leave with a deal that is nowhere near as good as the one we already have and I have no idea what we gain.}
Any 'deal' with the EU will ALWAYS be worse than we already had. This was stated at the outset and it totally logical, you can't leave the club and expect to keep all the advantages AND extra shots of gin.
The 'prosperity' for the UK was promised by the Tories on fantastic trade deals with the rest of the world while sidelining the EU. An increase in the cost of goods from the EU by say 10% is an odd way to improve things but this is the way of Tory logic.
The fact that the world has moved on in the last 40 years or so seems to have escaped the great thinkers in the Tory party (although Labour are not much better).
BoJo's rallying cry of 'Fu45 business' should really have been 'Fu45 the UK' in many ways.

HurricaneFloss · 06/10/2018 09:26

What I meant was that I've had complete faith that the Tories would fuck Brexit up to the point where we would end up remaining (you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one....)

Whilst they certainly have fucked up, I now think a deal is in sight that enough Tory and Labour MPs might vote for.

I can't believe what we are throwing away.
