For all the original assertions that Brexit was nothing to do with immigration, the only vocal Leavers left have immigration at the core of their 'argument'.

I've seen it on here and other social media.

Who on earth said it had nothing to do with immigration ? Pick a subject that is easy to manipulate, let people believe they are badly done to because of it and hey presto !

I saw someone starting a whatabout debate on here where Remaining would have turned SE England into the Calais Jungle and only Brexit will save us from that. Obviously that doesn't count as a sort of Reverse Project Fear. Like half of Turkey coming to live in the UK..
Immigration is the thing for some and not for others. Meh.

Reducing immigration is the only tangible "benefit" (benefit in the eyes of those Leavers who are racists at least) that Brexit can bring. All the other promises have all gone up in smoke.

This does that ignore the fact that the EU immigrants who are leaving include many Doctors, Nurses, Bankers, and other professions where their skills are desperately needed as well as their taxes.

that was the stock response from most Leavers originally.

Now the only vocal Leavers left have made it clear it actually was about immigration.

I agree with solo that's it's the only thing they can cling onto now it's clear everything else is going to get worse.

Sadly even that isn't going to be beneficial.

It is all so silly because we have always needed immigrants. They will just have to come from elsewhere now.
I am a second generation and DH a first generstion immigrant.
Between us we have contributed 70 years of work in the NHS.
My DC have left the UK.
