Where do you think we go from here?

I'm still convinced there's going to be a last minute u-turn and we'll end up with BINO which is a pointless waste of everyone's time and puts us in a worse position than before.

What does everyone else think is going to happen?

which is a pointless waste of everyone's time

I so hope you're right except you missed out "which is a pointless waste of everyone's time ...and money"

There's part of me that thinks we could never have embraced this fiasco if we hadn't been a rich country. Our relative wealth meant we thought we could afford to play roulette with membership of the world's second-largest economy .A poorer nation would see being an influential leader of a trade body with $20.3 trillion in GDP as a great privilege and not to be risked in any way.

I think there will be a second referendum, it’s the only way out of this impasse. Which is why Farage has started to campaign (Leave means Leave or something like that...).

Moussemoose · 19/08/2018 21:04

I agree campaigning has started. Farage is out and about, BJ meeting with Bannon. They know it is on the cards.

I think a preference based, 3 option referendum is most likely. The county will be torn apart by the hate a vitriol that will ensue. God help us all.

I think the goverment might decide what to do once the technical notices have been released and the public reacts to them. If we shrug shoulders to it it'll be all steam ahead. I hope that there's more to the plan then that but I'm doubtful.

We must have a second referendum, given that we know the costs and "benefits" of Brexit.

Not knowing what Brexit meant invalidates the previous election as no one actually knew what they were voting for.

Further, now a consistent majority oppose leaving it would be massively damaging to this country to drag us out against the will of the people.

SoloD · 20/08/2018 11:07

But if you don't want to be caught up in the chaos and economic damage that Brexit will bring, everyone of us needs to push for this.

Write to your MP (you can find your local on here www.theyworkforyou.com/) or better go and see your MP

Lord only knows what will happen.

Part of me hopes for BINO because I’m just so scared of another referendum.

I can’t really see how anyone could vote for Brexit now that they know what the economic fallout will be. But I know millions would still vote leave.

Any future Remain campaign will have to try to address the concerns of Leavers, particularly in the North.

Farage starting to campaign tells me he's scared that there'll be a second referendum that Leave will lose. He's ok because he's a Fox News pundit now. What does he care? It's like his pal Trump permanently having victory rallies to make himself feel good. Eventually it will stop and he gets to ply his trade as "Mr Nursing a Grievance".
