The White Paper- what is it?

The WP just issued by the government- I assume it's 'laying it on the table', how the UK wants its relationship to be with the EU, post-Brexit?

So, is it true that the government are actually stockpiling food? I can't find a reliable source on that one!

And if so, is it because they are expecting the EU to go 'Nah' thus we end up with 'crash-out' scenario?

Yes, it’s our deal to present to the EU. I fully expect it to either;
A) get watered down further or
B) get rejected out of hand

Not sure about the whole stockpiling of food though.

So to answer your title ‘The White Paper what is it?” I would say it may as well be toilet paper Wink

Am catching up on the Westminsterenders thread.

To answer the question in the OP: practically worthless.

But at least Theresa May committed something to paper. At least 18 months late, which is a bit of a surprise from her because I am sure she was the sort that always got her essays in on time.

It forced David Davis to finally resign after a dozen threats and got rid of Boris Johnson (for now).

I tend to think that if she had produced it in a timely manner, it could have been the starting point for negotiations.

And in no time at all it is in shreds because she has caved in to the demands of the ultra- brexiteer ERG.
