Things just got scary.

The colony of US puppet state or a vassel state of the EU?

Why not just let market forces take their course and let Russia buy the UK?

How did we get to stories of spies and mafia who buy politicians?

Just who are our enemies and allies?

Won't someone think of the effect on house prices in Salisbury?

Try not to don your foil hat, brace yourself and resist shouting 'money laundering too loud'.

More turbulence ahead.

Brexit still seems like such a cracking idea doesn't it?

Revealed: 50 million Facebook profiles harvested for Cambridge Analytica in major data breach

Whistleblower describes how firm linked to former Trump adviser Steve Bannon compiled user data to target American voters

Peregrina · 17/03/2018 13:32

since the UK govt & public doesn't give a shit about a tiny enclave that voted 96% Remain.

Funny that. As with the GFA, 'the will of the people' only matters for some Referenda.

The only good thing I see is that the ERG group have nailed their colours firmly to the mast, so at least we will know who to blame when the shit hits the fan. Not that they will care; they will do a Cameron and run as fast as their sorry legs will take them.

Jeremy Corbyn 'not given full access to top secret information Salisbury poisoning

According to The Times, the Prime Minister did not allow the Labour leader to be briefed on the attack on former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia, in the same way David Cameron allowed Ed Miliband to see key information held by the state ahead of the Syria vote in 2013

Mr Corbyn was extended a briefing on the attack under privy council rules but was not given access to the same detail as Mrs May, the paper says

Privy Council briefings on top secret information can be extended to other members of the house on the discretion of the Prime Minister

However, in this case neither Mr Corbyn nor his chief of staff Karie Murphy were, nor were they invited to a national security council meeting.

Downing Street refused to comment

But he did get to have his portrait photoshopped on Newsnight wearing a communist hat. Confused

And Tereeza got to make that completely unrehearsed and 'not staffed by CCHQ fist bump visit' to the site of 2 attempted murders. She looked happier than she has done in ages.

This is Corbyn picture on Newsnight.
This would look to clumsy for 'The Thick of It'.

@mrjamesob
If, as seems likely, May shared more intelligence with Merkel, Macron & Trump than she did with Corbyn then everything makes sense & the Labour leader’s been made to look a stooge. I think he should have seen this play a mile off, but then I’m a glutton for Twitter punishment.

woman11017 · 17/03/2018 16:32

True, pain

Dobby1sAFreeElf · 17/03/2018 16:59

Well that would make sense of thing but it also shows a lot of naivety. If it's true then JC has played right into their hands.

ALittleAubergine · 17/03/2018 17:07

Why the image of corbyn in a communist hat? What is the point of it?

TheElementsSong · 17/03/2018 17:07

So the Leavers will come back to these threads whinging about the EU 'bullying' poor little UK.

As has been going on since before the referendum.

Fascinating how we can simultaneously be the world-beating giant, admired and worshipped by all nations, who are queuing up to offer supplication (Don't They Know Who We Are, We Are Grate Britain) and poor helpless ickle victim of punishment beatings from bullying juggernauts.

woman11017 · 17/03/2018 17:15

it also shows a lot of naivety
But it does show that the tories are playing fast and loose with constitutional norms; at time of an attack on British soil; and hence jeopardising national security for political gain. V dangerous. For us.

Boris Johnson hits out at Emmanuel Macron & France for trying to encourage more immigrants to France rather than the UK,

Ladies & Gentlemen we have reached peak #Brexit - Brexiteers are now angry at Europeans for stealing "our immigrants".

OliviaD68 · 17/03/2018 18:45

Has anyone ever heard of Purell?

This is AMAZING.

Purell as the cure for Brexshit.

Wow. The human mind and in particular the CONSERVATIVE mind - w larger amygdalas -- works in such strange ways. This is fascinating.

European Parliament votes to block ‘tax-haven Britain’

Molly, a member of the European Parliament’s tax inquiry Committee, has hailed today’s decisive vote in favour of a resolution on future EU-UK relations as the ‘final nail in the coffin of the Tories’ plan for creating tax-haven Britain’ post-Brexit [1]. The resolution makes clear that any future trade deal must be dependent on UK adherence to EU standards on taxation, including anti-money laundering legislation, exchange of information, anti-tax avoidance measures and must address the situation of its overseas territories

Maybe Corbyn too much of a gentleman to think May would play him like she has if it is true he was denied the same information she had. It seems that May and her government will stop at nothing, including the security of this country to keep power.

Corbyn was right in what he said in light of the fact he didnt have vital information. May is even more despicable then i could ever imagine.

Dobby1sAFreeElf · 17/03/2018 19:16

woman Indeed. TM isn't one for sharing either. None of this should have come as a surprise. I highly suspect this is someone's get out of jail free card, more than the actual reason. Interesting nonetheless.

mrsreynolds · 17/03/2018 19:47

I think - a man of principle he may be - there is good reason Jeremy Corbyn was a back bencher for decades...

Violetparis · 17/03/2018 19:49

I'm with you Sosentueto and I think this all may backfire massively for Theresa May. Maybe Corbyn was niave but I think most people with any sense of fairness would think deliberately withholding info is dodgy to say the least.

Sostenueto · 17/03/2018 20:07

Thanks Violet.Smile

Violetparis · 17/03/2018 20:16

If the mainstream press don't pick up on Corbyn being denied info then they only have themselves to blame when people dismiss them as biased, elite and untrustywothy. The whole establishment makes me sick.

frumpety · 17/03/2018 20:29

I think there will be a certain section of the UK population who will believe it was best not to give Corbyn full disclosure , given his communist tendencies, as played out in the media over the past few years.
