Nothing.

Brexit will have been cancelled by then and celebrations already done and gone.

Hoping that Olivia is right.

Otherwise, battening down the hatches, stocking up on perishables and tins, fuel, logs for the fire etc., and preparing for the worst.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as that, but there will certainly be some consequences that nobody expects, as we keep finding more and more problems as it is.

I genuinely fear for a civil war if it is cancelled to be honest.

PS: don't agree. Give it six months. The shit show will be so ugly that the British people will begin to revolt against this travesty.

I expect to feel really sick. I also expect to see some MN Leavers crowing and crowing, on the day itself, and then going strangely quiet when the long queues of lorries waiting to cross the channel build up and when food prices start to rocket.

I will be in an EU country.

If planes are not allowed to fly in/out of the UK, I want to make sure I am somewhere I am happy to be and not exposed to civil unrest if things go wrong here.

My plan is to head out a week or so before 29 March 2019.

Trying to enjoy my extra year of employment which is due to planned Brexit. Trying not to feel bad for many colleagues who will have lost their jobs due to planned Brexit.

I wish I could be as optimistic as Olivia. But I think we will be in a transition arrangement/have obtained an extension to A50 so the full horror of this madness will have been kicked down the road for a while at least.

I will still be on our overseas assignment all being well, paying off our mortgage as fast as possible to give us as many options as possible in the future.

I suspect the U.K. will be in a half way house designed to protect us from the worst of the impact until it is too late to turn back.

I may buy a house in Scotland and hope that it manages to get back into the EU, but that is a longer term plan as is just giving up on returning to UK.

camel You're a Brexit supporter IIRC. Would you be preparing to fight/ picking up weapons if it was cancelled? Who exactly would you wage war against? The government? Remain voters (how would you identify them)? Chuka Umunna? Anna Soubry?

I think talk of civil war is sheer hyperbole, frankly. From what I've seen of Brexit supporters on social media, they're very fond of shouting and sloganeering, but don't actually do very much else.

I agree with lala and mum about the halfway house/transition arrangement/extension to A50 scenario.

I think it just means a protracted and miserable death rather than an equally devastating but shorter shock, TBH.

Whereas our march in March mustered 100,000 despite various groups saying that it had been cancelled. I thought blow that, I have booked a place on the coach and am going, and obviously a lot of others did too.

I think 3 people and a fog turned up as leave won.

If a democratic process was illegally overthrown you might get a few more show up.

I would be there lawfully protesting too, and I suspect other might not be so law abiding.

But what if the Govt do a U-turn? They have every right to do so as a Parliamentary Democracy, and for which Theresa May has form. That would not be illegal. Would Farage bother to rustle up dozen people?
