That's all. Pop over and sit down quietly if you like.

I felt a sense of bereavement on 24th which lasted for a few weeks. I suppose I have moved on from that stage now, but I intend to fight this all the way. I wish there was somewhere else I could go to, but there isn't.

Can I join you please?
I live in Scotland and we have another IndyRef to go through as well.
Sad Sad Sad

I have changed allegiance to the Lib Dems. I was heartened to see them win Richmond, and I was heartened to see Nuttall fail in Stoke. We can find a few positive notes. I am wondering whether I can make it to the March - I'm going to see if my lovely very Remainder friend would like to go, or failing that the husband Wink I have never marched before. DH marched against the poll tax as a student. I would have marched against the Iraq War, but I had a newborn.

Worth the fight back, quiet fight back. Smile

PM Mark Rutte's party wins Dutch election, first exit polls say, with Geert Wilders' anti-immigrant party trailing

TheWoodlander · 15/03/2017 20:20

That's good news Brew

Badders123 · 15/03/2017 20:20

Keep up the resistance ✊️

Rather than Tea Party politics, we're doing quiet tea-sipping resistance.

Badders123 · 15/03/2017 20:46

And biscuits!
Nice European ones 🍪😀

Badders123 · 15/03/2017 20:46

Lebkuchen amyone?

woman12345 · 15/03/2017 20:47

Do you welcome new sad tea drinkers? I can go and mourn quietly somewhere else, but here does look quite nice.

I have home-made cupcakes, if anyone would like one?

Theworldisfullofidiots · 15/03/2017 21:02

Can I join you, please. Fed up so need some peace

smashedinductionhob · 15/03/2017 21:06

Of course. We can shuffle up no problem. Some of us have popped out to rejoin the melee, march, argue, get on with life but I expect they will pop in again soon.

It's like Hotel California here, a strange not nice dream.

"Relax said the doorman, we are programmed to receive"

It's getting out that's the challenge....

Welcome all. It's nice in here. Quiet and peaceful.

more news for our tea sipping resistance.Smile

smashedinductionhob · 15/03/2017 21:07

So anyway, I was thinking.

The decrease in racism - or perceived decrease that it was getting less. That we were moving in the right direction. That it would be less of an issue for kids born in the nineties or noughties.

That was nice. I'll miss that.

I'm on the decaff now. supermarket own brand.

woman12345 · 15/03/2017 21:15

That was nice. I'll miss that Yeah I remember that, racism used to be rude and a bit embarrassing. Different times.

cantkeepawayforever · 15/03/2017 21:16

I miss that feeling of belonging.

Belonging to something that, however flawed, had some principles that had their roots in the right place, and was big enough not to be clamorously, aggressively 'me, me' me'.

Belonging to something that had some notion of 'common good' and 'joint enterprise'. And, in its flawed way, did quite a lot of quiet good in the realms of disability.

Maylani · 15/03/2017 21:24

Space for one more?

Another European here, been wondering every single day for 9 months whether to uproot the family and start afresh. Not sure I'd ever feel 'at home' elsewhere, been here since I was very young, now decidedly middle aged even if I try not to admit it. Or to hang around and see what happens?

There's a half completed job application form for a job in my native country but my heart isn't in it.

Sorry, feeling a bit miserable Brew

Bananagio · 15/03/2017 21:24

I will miss being able to laugh at (Italian) dh's politicians. Once upon a time Berlusconi and co were the butt of the rest of Europes jokes. DH is smug in his enjoyment of the tables being resoundly turned on me. Hearing lots of "whoever would have thought that you lot would end up being more batshit crazy than us?"

Tipping my soothing cup of tea over DH's head isn't in the spirit of this thread I guess?

squishysquirmy · 15/03/2017 21:25

Good news about the Dutch exit polls, but I don't want to celebrate too soon iyswim. My Dsis lives in Holland, and Wilders is utterly vile.

MsHooliesCardigan · 15/03/2017 21:26

I love you guys. These threads are literally saving my sanity. I feel like I just can't get any respite- I absolutely love my job but work in the NHS so every day is just a reminder of the savage cuts to the public sector. I see people who 10 years ago I could have signposted to services that could have helped them but about 75% of them have been axed. I give out at least 3 food bank vouchers every day and most of those are to people who are working.
Where is Camoron these days? I wish there was some way to hold him to account for this mess. I know history will take a dim view of him but that doesn't seem enough of a sanction for buggering up the country.
