That's very nice of them, didn't we dump all over them when we joined the European Union? Apologies if this is wrong, a sort of half remembered memory.

Winterbiscuit · 29/06/2016 22:16

StrawberrytallCake · 29/06/2016 22:21

Spinflight · 29/06/2016 22:53

We did have an eye to their interests and made sure there was provision for New Zealand lamb and butter.

Was still a betrayal in my opinion though a slightly tempered one.

They're being open, forgiving, generous, positive and polite. That's absolutely the sort of country we should be working with.

Elizabeth09 · 29/06/2016 23:19

Australia has done the same thing. Smile

purits · 29/06/2016 23:25

We were made to dump them because the EU said so. Can we sue the EU for coercive control?

Thank you, New Zealand.

Winterbiscuit · 29/06/2016 23:27

Not quite. In 1960 we were a founding member of EFTA so we could trade with Commonwealth counties. Unfortunately they wanted access to our markets but weren't so keen about the UK having access to their markets. EFTA wasn't enough, our economy went further into decline & we left to join the EEC.

STIDW · 29/06/2016 23:58

lljkk · 30/06/2016 13:43

Wow, 2 countries half a world away with combined population of 28 million want to make trade deals with us. Gee, be still my beating heart.

Just5minswithDacre · 30/06/2016 14:30

Read it again ljkk Grin

GlassBrexiteer · 30/06/2016 14:54

thats great, people like us!
they dont think we're idiots who've committed economic suicide, they want to reach out and help us to move forward
because if everyone can find a way to negotiate and co operate then everyone wins

trading isnt just about physical goods it's also about ideas, expertise and innovations
