Like many highly effective demagogues before him, he has ridden the far right, but can he contain them, or will he be swept aside by something more sinister?

Those with a decent grasp of history will recognise a trend here. Very frightening unless we can wrest control back from him and assert parliamentary democracy over the decision whether or not to implement brexit in a manner that does not itself unleash unrest. We stand on the edge of something potentially very bad indeed.

Thanks quagmire. Can't find the link but someone at the EU thing today described him as extraordinarily selfish. A commentator on a Canadian programme about Brexit said there was a special place in hell for politicians like him.
