If Corbyn decides to stay, that really opens up politics for a party that is not Conservative in its outlook but is not as left wing as a Corbyn Labour party. Hell, it might appeal to people in the middle ground.

They've been very quiet. But TBF - there's not many of them.

Lib dems have said they will make it an election pledge to rejoin the EU at the next general election.

They are playing a wise game staying quiet and under the radar while everyone else fights.

I am not voting Labour if they keep Corbyn I will vote Lib dems.

I haven't forgiven the Lib Dems for rolling over so completely to the Tories during the coalition years.

I reckon, I'm still going to be pretty angry with them for some years yet.

I don't want the Conservative party. I think that should be an option on a voting slip but that's not going to happen.

It sometimes seems easier with the 2 party US system of Republicans and Democrats.

I have no time for Nick Clegg since he got into bed with the Tories, but that is one hell of a prescient article.

I believe that the lib dems did a good job moderating the Tory party in coalition. Whilst they couldn't stop the right wing, people crushing old boys club everytime theg wealded the axe they did sofen the blow in many cases. Just look at the events post general election for evidence of that. In the current political soup I think that a strong lib den coalition government would be best of a bad lot.

Anything but the Conservatives will do me. As long as they are to the left of the Conservatives. Lib Dem - Lab - Green coalition. That would be interesting.

I'm sad the LibDems sacrificed themselves (and I think Clegg, Cable etc must have known they were doing so) out of the real necessity for the coalition to work in the aftermath of the financial meltdown. I don't know if they can ever regroup. I so want a real centre, moderate party ... with a chance of electoral success. But the voting system enforces 2 party politics - I'm of an age to remember the bitter disappointment when the SDP/lib alliance were only a couple of percentage points behind labour but only won 23 seats. I fear that if the moderate wing of the Labour party splits off it'll be a rehash of the SDP, only this time with bloody UKIP in the mix.

Egg the lib dems didn't roll over to the tories. They did the best they could in a minority position. They had to pick their battles, but they were the only thing keeping the tories in check. It's really tragic that they were so badly decimated last year.

This is a list of extreme Tory policies that they managed to stop. The guy is a lib dem but there is plenty of evidence that the list is correct. Need to go to bed and cba to look them all up!

The Lib dems had no choice and they did put a halt to a lot of the crap the Torie party wanted to implement. If only they could have stopped Gove from turning the education system upside down with his academy crap in this country.
