I'm trying to find the Paxman debate online to watch it. Does anybody know where it is?

Here's the time. Now I just can't find out to watch it.

Europe: The Final Debate with Jeremy Paxman is on Channel 4 tonight (Wednesday, June 22) at 9pm. It finishes at 10.35pm.

Its still on, maybe try channel 4+1?

BoatyMcBoat · 22/06/2016 22:07

Sorry, watching it on tv. It's a bit of a waste of time. PAxman isn't controlling the debate, so it's really just lots of people shouting over each other, no one gets to actually make a point, no one answers much, and it's a mess.

I'm sick of both sides.

BoatyMcBoat · 22/06/2016 22:08

Oh and the mics aren't well distributed and so half the time you can't hear what a person is saying. Some people just waffle pointlessly.

Knockmesideways · 22/06/2016 22:10

Here you go. www.channel4.com/programmes/europe-the-final-debate-with-jeremy-paxman

Duckstar · 22/06/2016 22:11

I agree Boaty. Paxman just comes across as arrogant and aggressive. I don't think he was the right person at all to manage the debate. They have some very interesting panellists, but it just feels like it is descending into a slanging match. At least no more campaigning from tomorrow!

SouthWestmom · 22/06/2016 22:11

Bloody rude to Sandie Shaw just now

BoatyMcBoat · 22/06/2016 22:12

Yes, but she was taking a long time to get to the point on a subject which was not under discussion right then.

HollyGoeslightly · 22/06/2016 22:13

I've been watching it. The 'remain' side make me think of the 'in crowd' bullies when I was at secondary school. I thought it was disgusting when a Greek gentleman in the audience was desperately trying to explain the damaging effect of the EU upon the Greek economy and was totally shut down, mainly the 'lefty luvvie' Sheila Hancock and Paxman. Absolutely disgusting. I also thought Paxman was generally very rude to the Leave side. Just a shambles and totally biased towards the Remain side.

SouthWestmom · 22/06/2016 22:13

I suspect she hadn't been asked when it was her slot from what she said

saffynool · 22/06/2016 22:14

Plus...Louise Mensch, managing as always to be both pointless and offensive Hmm

oh hai Louise, did that set off your google alert?

Destinysdaughter · 22/06/2016 22:15

Waxman is terrible!

ipsogenix · 22/06/2016 22:18

Found it, thanks.

OP posts:
bakeoffcake · 22/06/2016 22:21

He is terrible isn't he, I'm really surprised, just a lot of silly shouting.

HollyGoeslightly · 22/06/2016 22:22

What really pisses me off that those supporting Remain have been consistently accusing those supporting leave of intolerance, xenophobia, small mindedness and even racism, yet when a gentleman from Greece was trying to explain the damaging effect the EU has had on the Greek economy, he was silenced by the likes of Jeremy Paxman and Sheila Hancock. I thought this was a disgrace.

saffynool · 22/06/2016 22:22

Anna Soubry sounds/looks pissed

BoatyMcBoat · 22/06/2016 22:25

Yes, Holly. The only person so far I actually wanted to hear and he was shut down.

Last night that newsnight woman was talking to a Turkish minister who I thought was really good. He said how disappointed, nay shocked, that the Remainers were saying Turkey wouldn't get into the EU until 3000, when Cameron was - they thought - their biggest advocate.

The lies are incredible.

HollyGoeslightly · 23/06/2016 00:26

Boaty I don't trust Cameron one bit. Everyone I know feels the same. This is one of the many reasons I'm voting to leave.

howtorebuild · 23/06/2016 00:32

I felt sorry for the Greek man and woman with disabilities, nobody was interested in them.

Winterbiscuit · 23/06/2016 01:05

I wish there could have been more depth to the arguments but there wasn't really enough time, especially as everyone kept interrupting everyone else!

Topseyt · 23/06/2016 01:26

Paxman is normally in control of debates he hosts, but even he struggled this time.

Sandie Shaw was making a very waffly point about music when the debate had been moved on to national security.

Sheila Hancock was fab for Remain. As Alex Salmond observed, she would have made a good campaign leader.

Anna Soubry (remain) was, by contrast, was cringe worthy. She is not an asset to any campaign. She labours her points and hasn't a clue when to stop and shut up.

HelenaDove · 23/06/2016 02:13

Sheila Hancock is ace.

And if we are going to talk about disrespect what about the ageism that was directed at her and a couple of others on this debate and the eye rolling and sighing when WW2 was mentioned.

Dismissive and disrespectful.

claig · 23/06/2016 08:10

'Anna Soubry sounds/looks pissed'

Same as always then. She always sounds like she has been liberal with the sauce. The Establishment usually put her up against Farage to witter on and drown out what he has to say. It seems that Farage was offered a place on the debate but chose to have dinner with his son instead.

Probably a wise move considering the calibre of what the Establishment chose to put on there.

smallfox1980 · 23/06/2016 08:13

Oh Claig, you do make me laugh with your "establishment" comments.

You evidently have no idea what or whose agenda you are voting for.

STIDW · 23/06/2016 16:10

It seems that Farage was offered a place on the debate but chose to have dinner with his son instead.

Which son was that, claig, the one he claims is backing Remain? Wink

Perhaps Boris was also having quality time with his Dad who apparently also backs Remain!
