Without googling - can you name your MEP? And are you in/out/don't know?

Just wondering (especially if there is any correlation between knowing and preferring to remain).

I don't know, and am still a don't know.

Sorry, that should of course be 'can you name any of your regional MEPs?' as it's not quite like a constituency MP.

Yep, I 've even met him. (Well, one of them, I think there are three for this region.)
In. Probably.

"Yes and in (but not voting)."

You won't be bothered if it turns out to be "out" then?

None of us have only one MEP. The European Parliament constituencies are quite large and there are several MEPs for each area.

The leave campaign keeps trying to make a thing out of the fact that so few of us know our MEPs, and this is being used to highlight how undemocratic the EU supposedly is. However, I think the real reason we don't know them is because we each have several. This is thanks to the system of proportional representation rather than any fundamental failure of democracy. PR is arguably far more democratic and representative than our first past the post system.

I could name a couple of my MEPs but not all. I do know which parties they all represent.

Perhaps alleg doesn't have the opportunity to vote?

I've googled and can honestly say I've never heard of any of them. Surely I should know their names but no, not a jot, I don't know their names or faces. Confused

Yes. I've communicated at some point with all of them.

Sorry - it was a bit ambiguous. I can't vote as I have been out of the UK for more than 15 years. Sad

No, but I did vote for them, and in.
