I am utterly mesmerised by how bizarre this all getting.

On the one hand, life would be so much poorer without the image of Bob Geldof hollering YOU ARE NOT A FISHERMAN'S FRIEND at Farage and his flotilla. On the other hand, I am cringing with embarrassment at what the rest of the world must make of us.

I live abroad at the moment and Brexit is frequently in the news, but in the context of impact on world markets etc etc. It's taken as a given that we are all a bunch of nutters lining up to chuck a pile of shit at a very big fan.
