Confused about registering??

I'm slightly confused, I am registered to vote normally in elections. Im aware that the registering to vote for the EU passed last night but did I need to register for this separately in order to vote?
I've had a quick look on google but I can't really see an answer?
Have I missed the boat?

Don't think so -we didn't and we received our polling cards a couple of weeks ago?

If you were registered to vote in the local elections in May, you're registered to vote in the referendum. You don't need to register separately. Haven't you received a polling card? Mine came over a week ago.

Have you had info sent out? I didn't need to register separately for this election. We have postal votes so I've already voted and sent mine back

I hadn't heard anything about having to register until the early hours of this morning when the deadline had passed😆

I have a voting card though for the referendum, so I'm assuming I can actually vote. I certainly didn't register so not sure how I got that if you need to register. I am very confused.....

Once you are registered once then you stay on the register.

If you are registered to vote in local and national elections, you should be registered for the referendum. We've had our polling cards for weeks (Trafford).

You don't need to register if you are already on the electoral register and if you've received a polling card then you definitely are!

This is why there isn't really a correlation between the large numbers registering and those that are eligible/will get a vote.

There will be a large number of those that have been 'last minute' registering that are already registered.

My parents did on the web thinking they had to and got letters in response saying they were alreany registered.

If you were registered in May you only need to do it again if you moved house in the interim.

Yes, we moved on 13th May, so I have reregistered at our new address last week. I presume some voting cards have gone to our old address in the meantime.

You can contact electoral services and see what to do. If your old house is nearby you could just go to that polling station and give that address

I did a last minute online registration, because we hadn't had polling cards by the promised date ( thanks LA), but then had an email from electoral office saying they cannot verify my identity even though I was registered to vote in May, and did so
We then received polling cards
So fuck knows. I'm going to vote, but will seriously kick off if I've been disenfranchised.

Not really connected to OP but what happens to people who move house between now and the vote. Can they just turn up and vote where they were registered to vote?

Thank you all. No we haven't received any cards which is what was throwing me off, normally you get them weeks in advance. we are in Warwickshire.
Maybe I will give them a call!
