Out - and I've got a Phd in a 'serious' subject!
I think the reason for that is a lot of academics rely on the EU for their funding and are worried about getting the same amount if the UK can decide how to spend its own money - but I don't think most areas will suffer - just maybe some of the less worthy research. But it a vote of self interest and not necessarily in the long term interest of the UK...
