And one 28th vote is better than no vote at all.

100% of British laws being made in this country by our own elected MPs is better than 1/28th say in laws that supercede UK laws and that we can't repeal.

The UK MEPs don't even work as a group for the UK's interests, as they're divided into EU party groups instead.

General elections every 5 years is better than a referendum every 41 years.

Winterbiscuit · 24/05/2016 11:23

RedToothBrush it is indeed frustrating that the Labour Party haven't come up with a credible leader for some time.

RedToothBrush · 24/05/2016 11:25

You make it sound like we wouldn't be subject to European law if we are outside the EU.

There are so, so many things we'd still have to comply with and have to have within UK law too, whether we like or not.

Like I say, its six of one, half a dozen of the other.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 24/05/2016 11:26

Ah, it's always idiotic if it's not what you wound vote, right?
Hmm
Lots of charmers like this around.
I haven't decided how I will vote, and I find these statements really off putting.

It was supposed to be a basic poll.

In
Out
Undecided

Why debate on a simple poll?
There's a whole bloody topic with countless interminable threads stuffed with all the same regurgitated points being made now on this poll thread.

Mooingcow · 24/05/2016 11:41

The Shy Tory is a well known phenomenon.

I suspect the Shy Leaver will become one too.

The 'racist' accusation is trite, old hat and particularly ignorant online where you have no idea whatsoever about the person you're attempting to stifle.

Where I am, the Leave group is strong and vocal. It's a multi-ethnic, inter-generational group who defy pigeon holing. It includes a chap who's been helping refugees in Macedonia and a retired Admiral.

I'm impressed by the arguments they make and particularly the fact they've managed to do so politely and respectfully and without recourse to tedious knee-jerk slander unlike most of the Remain people I've been lectured by.

There are many, many people I've spoke to who wouldn't dream of being so vulgar and unBritish as to declare their intentions but they are all there ready with full tanks to take the Shy Leavers off to the polls.

I think it will be fascinating!

RedToothBrush for Prime Minister! Grin most sense I have heard talked about this topic for a long time!

I just hope people use this opportunity to make an informed and rounded decision- there is so much misinformation and sensationalism banded about.

On the whole the electorate need better information about the EU, how it
runs, and how it effects/benefits us.

Undecided but leaning towards out. Dh is out as is my mum and brother.

I'm struggling as neither campaign is doing much other than mudslinging. I feel I don't know enough and it's a bloody scary decision without all the facts.

In - I'm nervous of the EU and what it will develop into and what it will look like.
Out - what would we look like without that?
Argh.

Winterbiscuit · 24/05/2016 12:14

Our country will be what we make it.
