Dog in crate all day an evening

I'm having an issue with a neighbour the dog is in the crate all day and they don't even let it out in the evening when they are in. I phoned the RSPCA they couldn't care less. The dog is repetitive barking all day out of shear boredom it must be sole destroying for the poor thing.

The laws for animal welfare are ridiculously low and the rspca can only advise unless it goes to court, so if the dog is medically treated, fed, watered and not being physically abused its very hard for them to take anyone to court.

You'd probably be best to follow a noise complaint route

Yes try the council with a noise complaint, but ultimately RSPCA won’t intervene in this. I agree it’s horribly cruel though.

How do you know they don't let it out in the evenings? Is it in the garden or do you talk to the neighbour? If it's the latter, I wonder if you offer to help with the dog? I understand you might not be able to or want to but just a thought because, as you say, the RSPCA don't give a shiny shit and not sure how far you'll get with the council although definitely worth a try.

I went around to see them yesterday and when they eventually opened the door whilst being aggressive confirmed it’s their partners dog not sure that is an explanation for keeping the poor thing locked up night and day. I have lodged a complaint with the council, but noticed there is no noise from the dog today that worries me more!

That’s horrible. Please report this cruelty and free the dog from being hurt
