I must be showing off how naive my green credentials are.

I am liking this - soap porn!

MrsBadger · 21/05/2008 11:32

we use shower gel in the shower but always have Imperial Leather for handwashing

I hate hate hate the orange colour of the 'original' one though so buy whichever the white version is (sensitive? aloe?) hence fulfilling my aesthetic and DH's nasal requirements.

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:35

ooh does the white one still smell of Imperial Leather? I love the smell but agree about the artificial limb orange

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:36

I use this

Anna8888 · 21/05/2008 11:37

No... I use Dove shower or bath gel in the bath and Dove handwash gel when washing hands. I do have a Dove bar by the side of the bath for washing my face.

I can't abide old fashioned soap, it's far, far too harsh.

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:37

but this is my ultimate fave

ranting · 21/05/2008 11:37

Yep, Dove when I'm on economy and if I'm feeling brassy, I indulge my Pears soap fetish.

SixSpotBurnet · 21/05/2008 11:38

That looks lovely, Enid.

I quite like some Body Shop soaps, I must admit.

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:39

the body shop Daisy one is nice

MargaretMountford · 21/05/2008 11:40

my current bar of soap is a Pears bar with the remains of a coal tar soap stuck to it - good combination !
Our favourite of all is Lush snowcake which you can only get at Christmas - it is heavenly

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:40

and, oh did I mention I LOVE soap btw, I have this in my bathroom as I love the box. Unfortuantely the soap is too drying, but hell, when it looks this good, who cares?

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:41

and I make my children use Lush 'Honey I washed the kids' just so that I can nuzzle them afterwards

OrmIrian · 21/05/2008 11:42

on the odd ocassion I take a bath I just soak lazily in smelly bath stuff. But in the shower I usually use soap.

SixSpotBurnet · 21/05/2008 11:42

Enid, I pronounce you Soap Queen of mumsnet!

MargaretMountford · 21/05/2008 11:42

when I was little I loved the Bronnley Lemon soap in the shape of a real lemon, wrapped in tissue paper...mmm
And any sandalwood soap is fab

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:43

this is one of those moments when you realise something about yourself

I really am obsessed

OrmIrian · 21/05/2008 11:43

I love lemon scented things. Anyone remember Zest soap? Early 70s I suppose. Very very strong smell of lemon - used to want to eat it.

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:44

margaret I bought lots of lovely sandalwood soap back from indonesia

also french soaps (I found a shop DEDICATED to soap when in france last - heaven - I bought 12 bars - one was called 'Fanny' )

littlefrog · 21/05/2008 11:44

not very keen on soap at all myself, greatly over-rated. but better than bath gel any day! Good rub with a flannel in water gets most things off, I find; use soap when that doesn't work.

MargaretMountford · 21/05/2008 11:45

yes, I remeber that - and Shield - a deodoranty soap...
and do they still make Camay ? or Cusson's Pearl ? (I confess to soap worship)

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:45

ooh I still love a bronnley soap

or the roger et gallet ones - gingerbread - in a box

Enid · 21/05/2008 11:45

Lux

MargaretMountford · 21/05/2008 11:46

I have a nice French sandalwood one in my sock drawer at the moment and a giant block of lavender soap too. I am saving 2 bars of Jo Malone grapefruit for a special occassion !

MargaretMountford · 21/05/2008 11:47

Roger et Gallett - mmm, they do a good sandalwood !
Actually, the one in my drawer is coconut I think...
