Hi all, I am planning on moving to a 1 bedroom ground flat with my daughter.
Those of you that live in 1 bedroom flat how is and is I livable and enjoyable. What are the pos and cons of living in a 1 bed flat. I want to save money as living in anything bigger is so expensive.
Thank you

How old is your daughter?

The layout and potential re-layout of the flat matters. A small child may share a bedroom with mother. Soon, both will want some space which is theirs alone, even if it is a glorified partitioned cupboard with a wall-bed. Moving is costly, and unemployment is all around us, so there is no certainty the daughter won't eventually be, say, 26, and possibly still have nowhere else to live, and no income.
The ground floor is good for disability, or for prams or endlessly running- about small children, but the top floor is good for avoiding downward-transmitting neighbour noise. -

You take the living room, she has the bedroom. Daytime you both share living room. You can go on like this all your lives

Put a desk for her in the bedroom to study....if you work from home, you do it in the living room or the bedroom whole she's at school. It's life like any other...

I used to live in 1 bedroom flat with a baby and husband. I had high stool in the kitchen, because my husband was working in the bedroom in daytime. We had beds in both bedroom and living room....
