Quick question about tumble drying

Sorry to post about tumble dryers under Ethical Living but it is a genuine question!(btw I rarely use my dryer, and I have 2 clothes horses and I line dry when it is not raining or below freezing...just saying )

Anyway, which uses less energy (or is it about the same) - an hour's drying on "high" or 2 hours on "low" heat?

Thanks

would this not depend on your particular machine...

interesting thought though...

Because the tumbling keeps running, I would assume that 2 hours low heat assuming "low" uses half the energy of "high" heat uses more energy... because the energy to keep tumbling has to be expended for twice as long.
You might find specs about energy usage in the manual.
