I won a composter !!!!!

I entered a competion to win a composter a few weeks ago and won first time i've won anything It was delivered this morning.

Getting very excited about recycling and creating my own compost! DH thinks i'm mad, not for recycling/composting but for getting excited about it all

Has anyone got any useful tips for a beginner? i've read the leaflet with it and know a little bit but i'm sure i'll make rookie mistakes

pee on it, you're having me on right, might get dh out there when it's got some stuff in it though and tell him he needs to pee on it so it works properly

Do you pee on your compost? How?!! The question came up on Gardeners Question time whether there was any difference nutrition wise between male and female urine. Bob Flowerdew polled the audience ... quite a lot of men recycled their beer but no ladies. Well says bob, nature provided us with a spigot.

where i work they are having a urinal that goes direct to the compost installed (seriously)

obviously only the males will be using it

i told dh, he looked at me blankly, said 'what' then I repeated, his answer 'so i'm supposed to go outside and wee in there? i'll get arrested!' He hadn't heard me at first!!!

Will try to get the grips of what i'm putting in it first, then maybe go the pee route
