Hi All! New to Mumsnet although not a new mum 😊. Moving into a house which needs a proper overhaul. Has anyone any experience of heat pumps? Trying to be as green as possible in the renovations. I also live in old coal mining area with a shaft underneath so anyone with any experience or knowledge of this extra welcome! Thanks All

Have a relative who works in Ground Source Heat Pumps, so can run any specific questions by him for you, including whether the shaft would be an issue. I think his general spiel would be that GSHPs are very very green, very very effective, but can be expensive for domestic use, depending on how easy access is to your garden to lay the pipe work.
