Composting

My council don’t offer a composting type service where they will collect food waste so I was thinking of starting a compost heap in the garden. However, I would have no use for ur. I know nothing about gardening due to a chronic illness and other circumstances I can barely keep up with just cutting the grass. Any ideas for what I could/should I do with compost if I can’t use it myself?

Do you have a close neighbour who might appreciate it ?
Or is it worth asking at your local allotments ?

Do you have room to keep some pots in the garden for herbs, tomatoes, strawberries etc?

In over 20 years of living in my current house, i have never once emptied my composter. Raw veg peelings and grass cuttings sometimes shredded paper go in. A weekly watering with the hose in summer... its like a magic bin!!
