Soda stream ..?

Hi
I've been wondering about getting a soda stream for a while. We get through usually 2-3 2l bottles of fizzy water a week, still trying to cut down but don't have many vices and really enjoy it.
I don't know how to tell if buying a soda stream (considering production, transport and ongoing CO2 replacements) is more environmentally friendly?
Info/opinions/recommendations please!
Thank you

I've been thinking the very same. I just want it for the water aspect and not interested in buying flavours and like you wanting to cut back on the throwing away of plastic bottles. Looking around at prices and the cheapest seem about £58 -65 area.

We have the one with the glass bottles. Not sure if it really is any more environmentally friendly it does feel better than chucking 3-4 big plastic bottles in the recycling each week.
