What else can I do?

I try and recycle everything that our council will take away.

I have just ordered a compost bin.

I take bottles & glass, to the bottle bank, clothes to clothing banks and books to charity shops.

Other household items always get put on freecycle.

I order a weekly veggie box and try and get food with minimal packaging or recyclable packaging.

I use ecover where possible, and wash at a low temperature. I dry everything outside or on a clothes horse inside. I do have a tumble drier but only used it 6 times this winter and that was to get my new baby's bedding dry.

I'm not having periods at the moment as I'm breastfeeding but will consider getting a mooncup.

Any other ideas?

Walk everywhere when possible? Don't fly on hols? Sounds as though you're doing a great job already!

Get your house checked for energy efficiency, including appliances?

Is your veggie box from local suppliers or from one of the larger organisations which source from all over? If not local, do you have a local farm shop you could support?

Buy your clothes from the People Tree? Not sure how ecological that is as the clothes are produced abroad, but they are fair trade.

Havent been abroad for a few years so flying is out.

Veggie box is abel & cole. I dont have any local farm shops nearby (i have checked).

Will think about getting the house checked for energy efficiency. I do try and factor this in when making new purchases eg, washing machine last year.

Turn your thermostat down a degree and your water temperature down by a few degrees.

Buy fewer clothes or only buy second hand clothes.

Ok, heating is off at the moment but hadnt thought about the water temp. Will get DH to look at that later.
