DIY mattifying face powder

Can I ask what success/if any people have had with DIY face mattifying face powder please?

I've been using GOSH primer and setting powder and I love it, but as I've just started to swap out 'store bought' beauty products for homemade I was wondering whether there was a good alternative for face powder. My face usually ends up quite shiny after applying my day moisturiser (probably due to the sunscreen)

I've read on a few beauty blogs etc this morning about using corn flour/ rice flour/ oat flour/ arrowroot and thought it sounded worth a go.

Has anyone tried any of these?

I was just talking to my mom about this today and she said she met someone that uses cream of tartar and cinnamon! Can you get cream of tartar in the U.K.? I've never seen it....

Anyway, no first hand experience but my mom said she looked good!
