Another washable San pro thread

I did a bit of a search but found nothing recent and wondered if I was missing anything new.

I'm currently thinking about going back to washable San pro (used after dcs but then stopped for some reason) because I'm fed up with the amount of plastic pads in my bin every month, not to mention all the money I waste. I go through lots due to heavy and long periods.

I can't use a moon cup for various reasons so I will have to buy pads. Which is fine the ones I've tried before are great.

So, which brands do you use? What are the main pros and cons? Also if you soak what do you soak in? Tia

Everyone has different preferences I think.
My faves are my Eco rainbow minki. I like the heavy flow ones, I find the regular ones are too short so they move around too much but the longer ones sit nicely.

I have some huge imse vimse ones I use overnight which are fab.

I have a love/hate relationship with Charlie banana. I love the way they seem to suck everything in so the surface of the pad seems to stay dry but for some daft reason the fabric backing is slippery so they don't stay out at all in my pants!

Honour your flow are my faves.

Got mine from cheeky wipes. They are very good. Just soak them in cold water, sometimes a bit of vanish added, then just in the washing machine when I've rinsed them out.

I recently started using these. I bought a trial pack from cheeky wipes that has a selection of sizes/ colours/ absorbencies. I expected to have to buy more but actually it's been plenty. I rinse them in cold water after use and put them in a normal 40c wash and they come out clean.
I love them, so comfy! Only issue I find is despite the poppers they can still shift about a bit (forward/backward) so if I was doing something like going for a run for example I'd use sth else instead. For normal mooching about activity levels they're fine.

Ive got quite a few different ones, and the "honour your flow" ones are the most comfortable and i think if you type mumsnet into the discount box, they give you 10% off

I have some imse vimse big ones for night time and some wee notions from before. I seemed to remember I liked the fleece/minky topped ones the best.

So nobody feels the need to soak in anything but cold water? (I was thinking Milton or nappy San etc)

Also how many do you feel you need to get you through the week? I'm usually on for about 4-6 days. Would rather just wash altogether so need enough.

I use the same number as if I was using disposable ones.
I don't even soak at the moment. I just rinse them in cold water, then fold and popper them shut. I do a wash every day anyway so I pop them in with the rest of the washing.
I was really sceptical but they're not staining at all, even the ones with the white flannely top.

I have caved after seeing other threads and ordered 6 fairy hammocks from Wee Notions. Will I regret my decision? Only ever used disposables as well as disposable nappies before.
