Question for real nappy users..................................

Should I lug my faithful nappies with us on holiday (I've done it before), make at least 3 car trips to launderette to wash and tumble dry (not enough line space to air dry)
OR
use "eco" disposables.
And how many do I need for a 13mo for 10 days? I don't count the nappies I use, I just wash them before I run out.
Help me make a decision please!

I used ordinary disposables. Hated using them and in September we're holidaying in Devon, partly so I can take the nappies with us BUT there's a washing machine in the cottage so it'll be just like home. DS (13 mo) uses about 5/6 a day.

I would say around 5 a day but wouldnt do the lugigng to laundrette etc so go for eco disposables.

Would recommend Moltex Oko. We took Pampers on holiday (because I didn't have time to get Moltex) and I thought they smelt terrible - couldn't wait to get back to cloth.

Bump for more opinions, help me assuage my potential guilt...

use eco disposables.

HelterSwelter · 28/07/2006 19:29

Take Moltex Oeko. That's what we do.
I count 6 nappies a day, though DD uses less- I just like to have more for 'emergencies'.

TooTicky · 28/07/2006 22:02

Moltex it is then. Thanks!

I have just found out that Waitrose (or Ocado if you do your shopping on the internet like me) are going to be stocking pullups made by Naty from the start of November 2006.

Naty make the Nature Boy/Girl biodegradable, no nasty chemical nappies that are currently stocked by Waitrose/Ocado.

I love these as they are ecological and better for baby, as no chemicals, but have been struggling with the ever increasing wriggles at nappy change time.

If you want to use these I would recommend contating your local waitrose/ocado to ask if they are going to stock them, as otherwise they might not be in your local store.

Ocado are pretty good, if a few people ask for a product they do their best to add it to their product list.

I was told that the Nature boy and girl nappies do have lots of chemicals in - they are only partly natural (said the lady who was selling real nappies to our antenatal class) whereas the Moltex ones, available online (she said) are chemical free.
