Hope this is the right place to post but I’m after some advice.
Our neighbour has solar panels on his roof, which do not have any form of pigeon proofing surrounding them and consequently there are a mass amount of pigeons living under there. 50-100 I would say. They sit on our roof and poo into the garden constantly.
The amount of pigeon poo we get on our patio and table/chairs/toys is disgusting and we have to clean it all daily. You walk out of the back door and it’s everywhere. Neighbour’s conservatory roof (which is close to our bedroom window) is literally caked in it. Our child cannot play in the garden properly and it’s a health hazard. Our gutters are in a horrendous state despite us maintaining them. Last year we paid for pigeon proofing along our gutters which worked for about a month and then the pigeons went back to business as usual.
Here’s the issue - neighbour is very unwell and hasn’t actually lived at the property for approx 2 years now. I know from the one time I spoke to the daughter the neighbour is planning on moving back but there is no time scale on this. We don’t have any contact details for the neighbour and even if we did, I would feel guilty contacting given his health. He has a daughter that pops in to check the house very occasionally but I’m always at work so can never catch them.
We can’t continue like this though, it’s awful.
Would the council be able to help? We really like the neighbour and I’m really not sure what to do next! I just feel horrible about the whole situation.
