Is it ok to have moved savings into Children's First Saver accounts whilst claiming UC?

No

If they're your savings then no. If you can prove that the beneficial owner is your child then probably. It would need to be declared and a decision maker would look at it. If they're in a child ISA then the decision maker would look at when the money was moved and whether it was moved to deprive of assets.

Being able to save is a privilege, you are allowed up to a certain amount and need to declare anything over £6000. Just add a note to your journal and be honest.

Has someone reported you? How much is in the savings? Can you prove that it was your child's or is it just money you've moved to avoid being over the savings limit? It's very likely if they are aware of it that they will ask for statements for all your bank accounts. Did you not declare the savings account that it was transferred from?

Its my ex. I just gained access to my childs savings account and I can see over 6K being put in then back out after a year, am assuming its the same for my other childs account. I know there was more savings in their own account also. Just wonder why the DWP never noticed.

Are you also on UC? It could potentially affect you if you also have access to the accounts ? Screenshot the statements to prove it wasn’t moved by you
