He shouldn't be telling you who can stay in your house. Also, I left home aged 18. Why is he still living with his mum? Wouldn't he like a girlfriend himself?

Well he can move out then can't he!

Cheeky wee shit!

How dare he tell you that! My kids are desperate for me to get a boyfriend, ok not desperate, but they want to see me with a companion.

I can't imagine my kids telling ordering me about like that in my own house.

What is the reason? Have a mature conversation with him. Surely he would like to bring a partner over whenever he has one. So why is he stopping you? Does he not like your bf or is he worried about something else? If he has no reasonable explanations, then you can stay firm on your decision.

Living with parents at age 21 is not that unfathomable.

If you want your BF to stay over, have him over. Introduce him to your son. If your DS doesn’t like it, he can either go out for the evening/weekend or move out. It’s his call. You are entitled to lead your own life, OP, and your DS should be becoming independent - he’s not going to think about your preferences when he finds a girlfriend or moves away.
