Inappropriate comments from grandfather figure

My mother in law's partner is Italian and has recently made inappropriate comments about my baby's body (baby is 7 months old). He said that she has a "nice bum" on two occasions and also that you can tell she's a girl because she has "little boobs". He's also said that because she eats so much, we need to be careful she doesn't get fat and she'll need to go to the gym when she's older if she continues eating the way she does, she has literally just started eating solids and really enjoys her food. I don't know how to tackle this sort of behaviour and comments about her body make me feel really uncomfortable. Is it usual in Italian culture to talk about physical appearance so much?? Even for tiny babies?!

Doesn’t matter if it’s usual in Italian culture. It’s absolutely disgusting and you should tell him to stop. No discussion, non negotiable STOP. Or neither of them will see your daughter again,

Honestly? I'd pull a disgusted face at him and tell him to never ever comment on anyone's body in front of me again. If I really wanted to make him squirm I'd ask him why he's sexualising a 7 month old, I'd maybe even do a little head tilt when I asked.
I'd also never let him be around my child alone or when my child was getting changed.

Doesn't your MIL pull him up on these abhorrent comments?
I would've told her that they're not welcome in your house anymore.

She did intervene when he made the gym comment...other times she's been silent 😶

A 7mth old with a nice bum and little boobs.
That's not a normal line of thinking.
I'm just thinking he's plain fucking weird.

He's a nasty-minded POS.

Definitely, such strange comments towards a baby
If I was op I'd be questioning contact and definitely wouldn't be leaving baby alone in his presence.

Yes that's what DH says, he's just weird...I'm trying to believe there is no danger there but my instincts are telling me to keep her away from him anyway, which is quite easy as we very rarely see him
