Child working in a pub

Hi, a friend just told me yesterday he saw a child (she must have been around 5 years old) working in a Thai pub near his office in central London. She was picking up glasses and plates and cleaning the tables. He just mentioned it to me and I told him he and his friends should report it, but I don't really know the proccedure, can anyone help on what to do?

Maybe she is the pub owners child? What time if day was the child seen doing this ?

The law forbids the employment of under 13s except in extremely limited circumstances which IIRC cannot include anything in a public bar (over 14s can collect glasses etc but only before 7pm).

I think the friend who witnessed this should report it to the police on a non-emergency number or at a station, and let them deal with it.

My two are often seen 'working' in my place of work, expect they're not. They're being pains in the arse while they wait to be collected by their Dad.

Saying that, if it is as innocent as that then reporting it won't harm anyone.

I used to have to go to work with my parents sometimes. In fact I spent every Saturday of my whole childhood taking photos of houses for my mother's estate agency. And I spent much time in the waiting area of an optometrists. But I wasn't working there. I was just joining in.

If the child really is working that is one thing, but if they are 'helping' it is another.
