NHS app linked account

My FIL is struggling to manage his prescriptions and the Pharmacist suggested we link him up to either mine or DH’s NHS account and manage it for him. I’ve just been on the NHS website and it says we must be registered at the same GP surgery as him. Is there a way around this? DH has Health POA.

At our surgery you need to fill in a proxy form and the receptionist can do it for uou

Does your FIL already have the NHS app ?
My mother didn;t, so I got around the need to be with the same doctors surgery (I'm not) by setting up a completely separate account for her using an email address that I was already using on her behalf to deal with other matters.

I got a bit stuck with the id requirements as she didn;t have passport or driving licence, so I needed to get a code from her surgery. They were initially a bit relectant to give me one but when I explained that I had LPA (which they already had on their records) and wanted to use the app as a safer way of requesting repeat prescriptions for her, as I was currently doing this based on existing prescriptions and wouldn;t pick up any changes to her medication, they agreed t ogive me the relevant info to get it set up.

I logon to the NHS app as my DM and sort everything out for her. It uses my number as the MFA since she has no idea.

To get full access on the phone app I think you do need to be registered at the same GP as the person you are helping. That's what I do for my mum.

But if you aren't you can still create and login to an NHS account for another person (with their permission of course), which you can access through a browser. That's what I do for my LD adult son, who has a different GP to me.

I just had my DM and DF on my phone and log in as them to order prescriptions.

Works fine except when I get a notification of a message and I have to guess who it might be for when choosing who to log in as.
