Turning bed / mobility bed recommendation

Parent has lost a lot of strength and mobility and is finding getting in and out of bed difficult. Any recommendations for turning bed / mobility bed? Seems to be a big range of prices, even to hire them. Thanks!

Ask your local occupational therapy team (contactable through the person's local authority website) as they will do an assessment and provide a hospital bed if needed.

Sorry to hear of your parents decline. Have they had an adult social services assessment? Are you in the UK?

They can refer to occupational health and get a bed which is appropriate for their needs. They might need an airflow mattress depending how much they are in bed and how mobile they are, might need an over head lifting pole or side handle, electronic bed etc. Without a professional assessment, I don't think anyone online can give much advice I'm afraid.

Thank you. Yes, in England. I've referred to adult social services, so hopefully will hear soon.

This. Ditto rise and recline chairs, shower adaptations, stair rails etc. Don’t buy your own, get proper advice and support
