Phones nightmare

Does anyone have any advice on phones for an elderly person with hearing loss?
My Mum is 88 and won’t use a mobile but can’t hear the phone in the hallway. She has one of those ringer amplifiers but I can’t get it to work-I changed the batteries but it’s still not working. She has no WiFi and the phone I bought with an extra phone to put by her I am also unable to set up myself. She lives near me but at the moment I have to keep driving round if I need to speak to her. I don’t know who I can ask for help.

Age UK might be able to offer advice.

Does she have telecare? I think there are add ons such as flashing lights on phones that some services can support with

Can BT help, do both of the phones work, what trouble are you having setting them up.

The phone in the hallway works, but I can’t get the new one to work-the screen just says “searching”. I’ll get on to Age Concern and BT. Thank you.
